The squeal is selling XP and items though. Money goes in, items (cash), cash, and XP come out. How is this not selling XP and in-game currency?
The engine stuff and draw distance looks good though. I hope we'll finally get multi-threading support. Lampshades have an absolutely shocking attitude.

They really need to change Runescape to Rune$cape as that would be a more appropriate title number 1). Because Jagex only cares about money else we would have had more and better quality updates. 2). Right now Sgs and Sof are the number one updated and talked about updates in Runescape which really shows how low Jagex can go.

@mod stevew I agree with Jagex that the micro-payments help for the content coming up but you do have to consider people have played this game for years, a big change by adding something like this was obviously going to get some attention.
Are the micro-payments going to be stopped in the future or is this now a key part of the game?

Is it just me or do I feel like Jagex is losing a sense of taste? We need to stop fighting people botting their own accounts and start stopping those scumbag dicers at the world 2 GE and the goldfarmers mass selling gold. I find it hilarious how you guys have yet to ban many high profile dicers, but you'll waste your time with maxed players exploiting a bug that was Jagex's fault.
Jagex, you have to stop not releasing content because of SOF and the bots. To be perfectly honest, I admit that people botting on their personal accounts does not impact the game in any signifigant way Jagex; but your updates do.
Jagex really needs to weigh their options and distribute their time onto things that truly matter and impact the game.

I was concerned about the direction the game was taking, but I must say that after reading this I have complete faith in Jagex to continue making the game awesome. I'm looking forward to the bot and security update, and the render distance image looks amazing! :O Good work :)

I'm skeptical at best about this. However I am thankful you've addressed us about what to expect over the next few months.
As for the whole thing people complaining about these "skill bars", the system of Runescape's bars works WAY different then LoL (how the hell can you even reference a game based fully off of 4 buttons?), and is far different then WoW (Seriously, have half you people even played an 85 before?). Although my favorite bit is that ALL games use this skill bar these days. It's not just a couple MMOs. The amount of ignorance about this amazes me.
I feel like you should stop and explain this since people just can't get a grip on this idea. Hell I'm pretty sure 9/10 of the complainers haven't even tried out the beta.

I think it is good that at least Jagex has come out and answered our concerns. Yes I am sure they are business minded and want to make a profit. But I think people are a bit too negative because they are also business minded enough to not bite off the hand that feeds them. The players.
Top marks for sticking your head over the parapet and writing that. :)
