Praise Guthix! Bank spaces!!!! (Though I did clear out stuff the other day to make room, and now wish I hadn't.)
I'm a hoarder - RS and RL. But you know, I like my little treasures: the empty cardboard box, the holy table napkin, that darling forlorn boot, my first exercise book from infant school - oh wait, that's in the spare room. RS was the first 'proper' game I played online, and I love my souvenirs because they bring back memories. I WANT to keep them - and now I can!
Like E2, several pages back, I don't just grind through one skill at a time. Herby and farming need bank space, fishing and cooking need bank space; preparing for hoped-for bonus xp weekends takes bank space. (We *are* having one, aren't we? ;) ) And then there's armour, weapons, food, runes, ess, potions, etc etc.
So I for one am happy to pay for some spaces. When I can use my loyalty points I shall get more. This is one wonderful update, and just ignore the moaners, Jagex. I've had my issues with you in the past, but not this time.
And if you lot don't want to pay for spaces, then don't pay for them. It's not very much anyway, and they are for life, not just for summer.

I agree with ShadowShape:
"So first we get overloaded with cosmetic items, then we have to B U Y more bankspace in order to store them..
Very un-gentlemen like.. You guys should start wearing highwayman masks.. They'll suit you."
Buying bank spaces in the Loyalty Shop is OK, though, as we don't have to pay extra.
But do we have to pay for high-level weapons? €10 for a sword?
Jagex should buy these bank slots too, otherwise they can't store OUR money.
:@
Hard requirements I still have to meet for MQC: Ports, 99 rc, 117 dg, 100 elder chronicles

We aren't sure when it will go live on the loyalty store, but are going to look into it. Hopefully we will have an update soon.

"How did Jagex survive in the past when they only required $5 for membership. Jesus Christ, the amount they're sucking out of their players now... IDK how they came out with actual-worth-while updates back then. One of the old updates easily tops 10 of the recent ones."
Simple. They didn't spend all their time on marketing and promotional gimmicks, they spent all their time making a good game and keeping it fair. Because it was fair, because it was good, because they respected their players, because they said they would never let people buy their way ahead, word of mouth advertising was enough to make Runescape grow and grow.
That's what you do when you want a game to grow and become more and more successful - you make it good, you make it fair, you listen to your players, you make your players more important than your short term profit.
Or, as Jagex have done, you can suddenly change tack, you can start lying to your players, you can ignore their complaints, treat them like idiots, and try to milk every last cent out of them before they quit and the game shuts down. Word of mouth advertising doesn't work any more - because nobody will recommend to their friends a game that lies to it's customers, squeezes every last dollar out of them, and uses this money not to make even better updates, but to line the investor's pockets, while they put out less content updates than they did before they started rolling in cash.
That's what you do when you don't care about growing a game or even making it survive in the long term - you lie to your players and grab all the cash you can.
