Does Jagex even read their forums? On each page 90% of the players complain about these updates. It's so obvious we don't want them. Why won't you stop?

Issues;
Money, dear boy, Money.
Investors and shareholders usually demand short term gains, with no eye to the long term investment. This is particularly evident in gaming, where you pretty much require a fanbase. However, actions like this alienate the fanbase - not that such people care, because they'll, how to put this...Flip their holdings in Jagex before it starts to crash?

See thats what I would say the difference is or rather had been between jagex all those others... the back and forth feeling of dedication that the players felt for the game .. and the dev team felt for the players/game. Im sorry that the new owners were not able to actually be a part of that and change it so dramatically. They bought into a unique product with plans to turn it into every other game... its a bit shameful really.

My personal feedback:
This sort of update adds no value to the game for me. It doesn't ruin my life either; but if I had my druthers I'd like to see real content being added to the game instead.
I only just renewed membership recently (after lapsing around when free trade returned, due to work), and I've seen more updates that are irrelevant to the game than I used to remember. I also see general RS gameplay a bit less enjoyable than I remember it, at least partly due to increased numbers of bots and other such detrimental stuff.
Seeing this sort of update isn't comparable to tearing out my eye sockets with hot pokers or whatever, and you won't see me screaming my head off about it, but it doesn't make me very enthusiastic either. I admit I would like it better if these resources were put towards bot nuking, creating new play content, etc. I'm reserving judgment for now, but I will say that if this proves a typical sort of update and partially substitutes for real content being added to the game, I will likely be letting membership lapse again - not because I hate you guys, just because the game wouldn't be catering to my tastes anymore.
Anyway, I hope this gives you some idea of what I want and like as a player. Best. Once upon a time, back in 2001, people would stop in the street to compliment me on my addy square shield.

No thank you Jagex...why would I want to pay for a silly cosmetic item.
I have not and will not pay anything to use Solomon's store I have not even used my 200 bribe coins.
Don't you get it Jagex we don't want this

I dont get why people are complaining so much about solomons store, i mean sure you need real life money to buy the things in there but alot of them are good quality for money. Theres some good weapon skins, costumes and even new teleports! they all look cool and i've allready bought a few costumes and a weapon skin, i might even buy a few of these new ones.

Just a comment to the posters who can't see why this bothers some of us... RWT and SoF might not change my life but they potentially change my enjoyment of the game. RS was one game that I could rely on to not introduce RWT - gullible me! Solomon and SoF are, as far as I'm concerned, the first small steps on the road to introducing high level armour/weapons/skill boosts that are only available by buying them - so much for not being able to buy ingame advantage with real life cash!
If Jagex get away with this and see no change in membership numbers, they'll keep introducing more and more buyable equipment until RS becomes just another of those games that I spend my life avoiding because they are a) so expensive that I won't even start buying anything and b) they are boring without being able to access the higher level equipment --- not doing a) leads to b) which leads me not to play. Maybe I'll finally manage to lose my addiction to RS!
