I wanted to thank you, Jagex. This is exactly what we like to see done to cheaters and bots. Please keep up the great work and I'll continue encouraging players to report any bugs they come across in game or on the site. :)

I am very happy to see you are finding better ways to analyze data. I look forward to seeing the impact it has on the game. Hopefully you will be able to stop some of the hemorrhaging that cheaters have caused in this game. Well done to those working on this and other such projects!
This game has so much potential, I hope this kind of data analysis leads not only to improving the community by catching cheaters, but will lead to the ability to add different forms of competition to the content.

I like this. And also to all those people complaining that they only banned 20 accounts, if you read the article more carefully, it says that it is a list of SOME of the accounts that were banned.
I'm pretty sure they only listed a few because if players see that no matter your level, and no matter how much money or power you have (or the lack of such), you are still at risk of getting banned should you choose to exploit a bug in the game.

+1 Jagex. No need to stop with 20 names. Post the whole list on the forums to increase the impact of the action. Disclose fully to re-build trust with your users.
On another point: The GE allows Jagex to intervene in the economy when necessary to prevent runaway prices or shortages of critical items. Nothing to see here. Move on.

Could you guys also talk about punishments in rules? Some people can randomly get into this mess. I might of done the same if I tried it to be honest.
For example, certain rules you should also STATE what punishment they'll get. SAYING you will get muted, temporary ban, or permanent ban.
Like I said, I would do the same thing if I had the chance. I think you should speak about what would happen if you break a certain rule.
Anyways, I'm glad you're taking care of bug abusers though! :|

For myself, I think it's complicated to have an opinion about this. On the one way: Good Job! Bug abuse is against the Runescape rules, accepted by anyone who has ever made an account. To destroy these rule-breaking accounts, you make them be an example for others who tries to break a rule.
On the other way, there are, I repeat many others before, lots and lots of botters who destroys the game for the real players by making money and trade it for real-world-money. I think you should do, or at least try to do, something against this. E.G by making the game, within RuneScript, unavailible for any other programms like bots.
Someone else mentioned it before, set up a dwarfcannon at the runesshop in Varrock, and start banning the bots. Too many bots, and, I believe you try to do something against them, but for us players we see no difference tbh.

On one of 2college's youtube videos he posted the following comment.
"All I do on rs is stake, can do that on my main lol. The gp has been sold off lol."
Most of these abusers don't care about the ban. They've made plenty of real-life currency and their other accounts aren't even banned.
Jagex, I believe you still have a bit of work to do.
