Woo! I'm very glad to see this :) Good job Jagex!
And to all of you saying that you would rather have the bots banned: All of the bots don't generate several stacks of max cash per day.. So this has more of an impact on the game than banning bots.

Things like this really annoy me. I am slightly annoyed that people would do this, but what drives me insane is the way Jagex handles it. I understand that they are trying to fix a bug and punish those that abuse it, but what about bugs that hurt players rather than benefit them? Why can Jagex roll back accounts that abuse bugs for their own benefit, but they can't roll back accounts when Jagex screws up and causes players to lose their items.
For example, I experienced the QBD grave glitch. I lost almost all the valuable items in my bank, and was left with nothing. Jagex refused to roll back the accounts that experienced this glitch, although it was at the fault of Jagex and not the players.
I don't understand why Jagex can roll back the accounts involved in the bug that just occured, but not bugs such as the QBD grave glitch. It is as if Jagex is purposely trying to hurt the players.

Not that I support bug abusing and all but what I find most amusing from the news of the bug abuse is that jagex will (and already have) rollback those that gained from bug especially the group that didn't do it intentionally or is given the benefit of the doubt but wouldn't rollback those that lost from a bug like the qbd grave or death glitch but a lame apology.

I have known runescape for a very long time now but have not played for a while until this summer. I feel that this is a strong step foward by the new management to try and live up to the standards set by the previous one. Although the thing I noticed is that all the players banned are relatively/very new accounts. I think this is because the game has changed so much and now all the new players want to do is max out on stats, money, you name it!
To Jagex, I am sure you have noticed the runescape "private servers" such as soul split or 2006scape which have based their game on the old runescape which was what attracted many to this game because of its great community. With the new combat beta, this is becoming more and more like World of Warcraft or a PSP game which is something I and many others thoroughly dislike.
This runescape attracts players who are intent on maxing out, botting and buying gold from real world trading websites, they are not interested in the old community and the old community are not interested in them. If this is not addressed by the veteran jagex staff who understand this, all the old accounts with diminish. Have you not noticed how few have the 10 year veteran cape, or even the 5 year one?
