I like the idea of pendants of skill vs. lamps. Actually working for the xp makes sense, even if you work half as hard as you would have without, at least you're working.
That said, I'm going to have to add my voice to those who say, No SoF. SoF is gambling, and I see too much of people paying lots of money to buy spins.
I hope these pendants through SoF are NOT what is replacing BXPW. Someone told me that the necklace from May Madness would have been ideal (I was not playing at the time, so can't say for sure). Why? I have 2 member accounts at the moment, and I'm stretching my budget by adding the second, but so far this weekend, with the same number of spins, acct #1 has received zero pendants, account #2 has received 3. If this pattern continues, Acct #1 will end the weekend with 0 pendants, acct #2 with 7-9. As acct #1 is the one I'd really like to have them for, this seems really ridiculous. And as I'm on a fixed, limited income, I don't have the extra money to buy spins. Using SoF, there is no equality, due to the chance of getting something other than a pendant.
SoF is gambling, plain and simple. I don't know if it's legal for underage people to gamble in the UK; in the US it isn't, even in the areas where gambling is legal. And a lot of young people get addicted to gambling at an early age with this sort of in-game gambling. I've seen it in another game I play. OTOH, when these gambling addicts grow up, the casinos will love you.
I don't like the RWT aspects of SoF (or Solomon's store, TBH). It's bad enough every time I go to the GE I report someone for advertising websites that sell gold or other RS stuff; having Jagex do the same thing defeats the philosophy of the game from when I started it.
