jagex probably knows the game is dying and wanna milk the game as much $ as they can before its too late (i was a mem on Funorb and LOL lastest update in 2010 Sep)
why im still a mem? coz i enjoy playing with my net + irl fds

Eternal is 150% correct. Jagex is simply marketing the game to F2P-ers. Jagex is cheapening the game by giving out huge xp bonuses in return for thoudands of extra dollars on top of the thousands they already earn from membership + advertisements. Jagex has forgotten about their old school veterans who have stuck with the game (with the exception of the veteran cape). Tell it like it is people.
