If I owned this game I'd offer £1-$1 first time, first month ever membership. So free to play could have a chance to play members even easier.
I'd be working with the content developers every day. I'd also be ignoring the forums as theres too much ranting across the board. instead i'd be in game asking players what they'd like and what about the game they enjoy.

I played this game for probably 2 full years as free to play, when i couldn't access anymore content and the game was slowing down for me I got membership. It is a fairly simple concept you see, I enjoyed the game so much I decided to support Jagex as well as get these awesome perks which allowed me ever since to enjoy the game thoroughly.
Your points are not valid because you don't know me as a person, first of all calling me a communist because you don't agree with me Seriously destroys all possibility of me caring what you think.
These updates are brilliant ideas, because
1) the economy is Destroyed every time BXPW rolls around due to prices hiking and dropping etc.
2)During Bonus exp if you plan it out properly you can gain well over 2mil experience.
3) all members now get bonus experience but it is severely limited down to 700k
4) They haven't announced what sort of items they are yet, most likely they'll just be making something to add to the fun of the game
As a disclaimer I pulled my figures out of my ass, and assumed in general that someone could quite possibly gain that much exp during the BXPW's

Why is it terrible logic though. Surely allowing the in game economy to be torn around all over the place every time the player base prepared for BXPW's isn't a good thing.
If they release these as something like the Mad May Necklace then you'd still be training things or am I incorrect
