Man, oh man! I must say I definitely had the urge to ride down to the nearest Walmart and get a 6 month membership card or so, but the thing is, I realized that I don't really want the free xp, cosmetics, and the whole "Choose your fate" scenario because it is very unfair to those who either can't afford membership or have game cards ending at an unfortunate time (i.e. August 28th) or whatever date you want to conjure.
I'm slightly annoyed at these constant attempts to grab that surplus supply of money for those who wouldn't mind to pay more for their membership and for in-game items. Don't get me wrong, I understand fully the reason for the micro-transactions and so forth. However, such implementations are going against your own principles, Jagex, and quite honestly, a good amount of the Runescape population hates you for it.
You're constantly ignoring complaints and rants. It's reasonable to avoid such anger being directed towards you, Jagex, but in this case, you have brought these bad feelings unto yourself and instead of attempting to fix all of this, you do the exact sort of thing that the community hates over and over.
Also, what's with ignoring the free-to-play side of things? Pay-to-play should get more updates most definitely but it actually looks like you're going out of your way to give pay-to-play players more and more in attempt to lure free-to-play players into a membership. I'm not ranting or even assuming things. This is how it is. Here's the reality. Want proof? Go to the Sizzling Hot Summer news post and count how many times the words "member" or "members" appears. You couldn't have emphasized it more.
What you need to do is address the problems that are so obviously apparent, and what I would like, is a nice little series of votes so we can determine what the majority of the community views as appropriate and inappropriate, and by those results, sculpt out a new routine as it pertains to the future formation of our beloved Runescape.
