Plus, all those who buy items and success devalue the achievements of legitimate players.
Wow, is this real? A higher-up at Jagex actually let this slip through? Who are you guys trying to fool by saying things like this, implying that you care about the game's integrity, while at the same time you sell Treasure Hunter keys and bonds, which can be used to buy items and "success" in the game?
Kudos for taking action against 3rd party gold sellers, but now is your turn, Jagex: remove Treasure Hunter and don't replace it with anything else. Show that you care about the game. After all, you just said it yourself that being able to buy those things devalues the achievements of legitimate players.
Too late, Jagex bosses have already taken steps to stop TH looking like gambling so they don't fall foul of the UK laws that appear to be coming into effect fairly soon (gambling in games played by anyone under 18 will be probably be illegal). So the changes they've made are just to make it less of a gamble and more of a bought item - that will solve the legal issues without having to remove MTX.
The thing that all governments need to do (but won't) is to make MTX illegal - that's the issue that causes people to spend £000s on games, not gambling per se. People who don't want to make the effort in game will continue to use real life money to buy in-game advantage so Jagex will continue to take their money.
I don't really care whether someone spends their money on extras but I don't think it should give you an advantage over other players. The only advances in game should be bought with in game effort.
I Found a whole bunch of bots going too port sarim and there gathering raw chicken from the back of Wydin's shop and then porting too burthorpe and banking them on world 11 there has too be 75-100 new accounts doing this!!!
About time! Sick of them ruining the game. Another annoying is that somehow they have my email address and keep sending me phishing links about my email being changed. They're getting better at making the links look legit too but I'm not dumb enough to fall for it.
