Sorry jagex but this is it. loyal member of your game since 2002. logging in to get my vet cape then canceling membership. i would hope that in the future you realize your mistakes and try and correct them, however it probably wont happen and i am certainly never going to even look at the homepage to find out. this game is now dead to me.
To all you other players out there still playing, give them hell from me - Good Luck. :|

I don't think they even know how much we care. I say if you have clicked the free 200 runecoins to late but if you haven't don't. we do not support this. I thought squeal of fortune was ok. but if it is just going to turn out like this fine. i dont need my swagger stick full queen's guard and full d ceremonial (missing legs). I'm sad to say runescape community, that i blindly bought 75 spins. but that is the end of it. the only recent update i even support is the... wow... i can't even think of one I support... nevermind
EDIT: For anyone completely serious about this game, I was thinking we could stop using the free spins on squeal and ignore it completely. and for the solomon thing dont click that 200 free runecoins. i accidentally did. im a klutz :( anyways im destroying my swagger stick and if you dont believe me jagex check the records. i had one.

I think I have to agree with 1silverblood, I've played this game a long time even moving my life around so I can play and earn certain milestones but I draw the line at having to pay stupid amounts of money to buy items. What happened to the days where you could log into the game compplete a cheery little holiday event and be rewarded in kind. That's the spirit of Runescape. I've put up with never being able to acquire items such as the katana, barbed bow or flaming skulls but this has pushed me over the edge. I recently reached the max total lvl of 2496 and I was going to try for the completionist cape but last night when I saw this update I took a serious re-think to just quitting while I'm ahead. I had read a thread saying Jagex have been bought out by a company not long ago and it's is actually them who are squeezing money out of us and if that is the case and the original Jagex team have no say in what is happening. If that is the case I genuinely feel sorry for them. For now I will most likely continue to play but I will NEVER buy these items, and if too many more updates like this appear I'll be logging out for the last time. Ciao Jagex.

Complete BS, thanks for selling out Jagex, today is the day I officially quit Runescape, it used to be about the community, that's half the reason I loved this game so much, now its just about the cash, and quite frankly that's pathetic.
I hope Jagex sees these messages, so far not a single one supports this bull crap update, I will not buy a single runecoin from this and neither should anybody else, this update needs to be purged from Runescape's history, if not then today shall be the end of Runescape as we know it, this isn't Runescape anymore.
Ive been playing Runescape for about 7 years now, and today will be my retirement from this pathetic money grubbing game and company.

Nice update! Love the oufits and other goodies you guys made. The price for the Runecoins are relatively inexpensive, which is good.
Don't worry about all the haters, they are acting like little girls who can't get their way over every little thing. For all the people saying 'I'm quitting!' over a simple update; then good - quit. There's 6 million other people actively playing this game that doesn't care if you quit. If you realized Jagex is a business that wants to find ways to increase their profits, then you'd know what they are doing. + all MMO's have microtransactions.

The fact that this is not yet as bad as bought spins for xp, gp and useful items like SoF, does not change the fact that this is more short term money grabbing while destroying the fairness on which this game was built.
"We don't want players to be able to buy their way to success in RuneScape. If we let players start doing this, it devalues RuneScape for others. We feel your status in real-life shouldn't affect your ability to be successful in RuneScape."
This is a horrible update. If you make new rewards, introduce them to the game as new rewards for neglected minigames.
And if he starts selling gp, xp, items with stats, or some replacement for the bonus xp weekends, it will be even worse, and a slap in the face for every player who cares about the game, which Jagex clearly doesn't any more.
There is already a field to show the duration of an item you buy in the shop, which is set up just perfectly for buying bonus xp hours. I know you're planning it, you money-grubbing fools!
