I pay with bonds and I only get 2 weeks or 1 month worth of mem at a time, when that gets low sometimes I don't have enough money for it the next month so I take a month off, so you telling me now I have to buy mem within 2 weeks to get my rate or its gone? as a on/off player this kills me. some months I don't feel like playing the game, it doesn't have that much interest to me as a player that hates quests in this game. so when I leave for a couple months to play another game or just not play anything at all in the summer time I don't like to be inside and I work 3rd shift, I have to come back and pay more for something that a couple months ago I paid less for? I just don't see why you cant just grandfather permanently for those players that are all ready playing, why 2 weeks? that seems so inconvenient not just not worth it to me. and I have friends that I work with that don't play when they are in college, now they have to come back and pay more for their member even though they paid a less price earlier that year?.... WHEN my membership relaps I'm not coming back that will be the stake in the heart for my RS account

This stinks. Right as I was getting the urge to consider playing again, I see price hikes on the front page. There goes that dream.

How far this game has come. We're at the point where it's nearly as expensive as other MMO's that probably offer significantly more quality and content for the price per month... MMOs that probably also aren't as obscenely outdated as Runescape too.

Runescape is fun, but it's probably still not at that level where its content justifies a price tag quickly nearing $15. If we're going up that high, I might actually prefer playing and paying for an entirely different MMO that isn't plagued by the repeated issues Runescape suffers from. Hell, nowadays you can buy very good games for under 20 dollars, which I can assure you, probably have significantly more care and quality assurance than what Jagex provides for their living fossil of a game.


It would be nice if there was a way to opt out of dual-membership for both versions of Runescape in exchange for a cheaper rate instead of paying for an extra game I won't play.

It would also be nice if content was a little more promising to justify price hikes.

people are talking about how x y z is what is causing the price increase, I would like to point out that World of Warcraft has not had a membership cost increase in its entire existance and the content is much more impactful then what is released for RS on a weekly Basis.

Now you have a game with less content costing 4 USD per month then another game that has so much content that 10 years into playing i haven't completed everything.

Not to mention the constant Mtx that the game has anymore, it amazes me that it even still has a membership fee.

Well that's my return done. I only came back for a month and had the intention of grabbing a few months here and there as I found the price to be steep. Hopefully Jagex will have a rethink, otherwise thanks for the memories.

13.49 AUD? That's so much. My monthly rate is still 8.20, but I get the premier club each year anyway.
I assume this will also increase the price of the premier club. I'd hate to have to go back to monthly but if premier costs too much I might have to.

I definitely won't be buying membership again any time soon. I take breaks from the game on and off and it's definitely not worth paying more no matter how nostalgic the game is. If this was a price DECREASE, I can see myself keeping an active subscription and I would probably play more. You are probably going to lose more money off this update than what you would make by keeping the price the same.

So for just £8.40 I could buy into humble bundle monthly, which actually has more weighted variety than rs updates.

What a fucking sham of a company this is.
