Will things continue as announced or are there any major changes planned? Are you planning anything specific to gather more community interaction, or do you mean to just continue interaction at current levels?

Since Mod Pips was the Executive Producer and more recently the VP of Studio; we're going to be sticking with our current development roadmap for our current products.

One of Jagex's core values is our willingness and desire to listen to the community. We want to do more to get you guys involved in the development process. You only need to look at the recent Dev Diaries video series, the increased number of Dev Blogs, our move to expansions, as well as the more business-as-usual stuff, to see that we're really focusing in on the community and your feedback.

These usually have to be paid for separately.

Does this mean Runescape will be evolving into the sort of cash generating game where major new content has to be bought/paid for in addition to membership?

They referred to them as Expansions at RuneFest as well. They said they wouldn't be an additional cost, they're just expansions because they'll be bigger updates that teams get long to work on. The first one will be Menaphos and 120 Slayer (although really, I think they're squeezing too much into this one and am really feeling like it may fall flat since both 120 Slayer and Menaphos should have the full dev focus)
