It's definitely a scam.

Jagex, these are the people who run the gold farming sweatshops in their basements that you hate. Do you really want them owning your game?

Nope.. It's a flip LMAO. IVP and friends are getting the hell out before we all quit once and for all ..

They had no intentions of selling up until the Chinese company approached them with the green waving in their faces. We'll find out at the end of April what's what and then a possible "Goodbye" 'Scapers :(

I've also done some research on Shandong. Again, three words that consistently pop into mind are: corruption, sweatshops, and RWT.

Now, my argument focuses on corruption. Unfair treatment was the catalyst of the Sierra Leonean workers' strike, and the hallmarks of Chinese sweatshops are unfair treatment and unfair labor conditions. Also, no matter how much captial communistic China has, it'll always be known for its corruption, unfair labor laws, and unfair treatment of its citizens.

I can't respect a company like Shandong because of that. Moreover, if I was Jagex, I couldn't allow a dirty company like Shandong to invest or control me regardless. Money isn't everything especially when it boils down to humanity and scruples.

Although our friendly-neighborhood Jagex may remain in the UK and control RS, the whole purpose of an acquisition is for the acquiring company to own you no matter what degree of control you may have or think you may have. In other words, you relinquish that control once you've been bought, so the same applies to Jagex.

The only saving grace is Jagex's experience over Shandong's incompetence in the gaming industry. Otherwise, Jagex would be totally had.

Jagex, I know you like selling out (after all, you did Satan's bidding quite well when you created Solomon's store and the SoF) but what the actual hell are you even doing anymore?

This is pretty out of the blue, even for you guys. A Chinese mining company of all things, acquiring Jagex? Well I guess all hope truly IS lost! I mean, I was on the fence already about this game's future, but now? HA. Laughable.

GG Jagex, was fun while it lasted.

It's interesting there's been no more feedback from any Jmods on this thread too.... That non-disclosure agreement must be killing them!

It would probably only be the shareholders and Jagex' upper management that know what's going on. The J-Mods we deal with are probably as much in the dark as we are.

They can't disclose what they don't know.

There is not enough information released to the public to make a conclusion about the future of the game. I guess we can only hold our breath and see where the game will go.

I'm just going to say that on a 100% acquisition, anything goes.

Is this why they are seeking to buy in? It makes sense that they would want to diversify.

It's "Skadden" and they have a 60 employee office in Hong Kong that specialize in acquisitions...
