You have stated that you value community input and that it is a core aspect of success for Jagex?
Then why not put the acquisition to a poll? Ingame just like for any other major game update and give 3 options, For, Against, Uncaring

Some of you don't seem to get it - Jagex have zero say in the matter.

I guarantee there are some Jagex staff just as anxious as the players.

I agree. I wonder how the Gower Brothers feel about this.

Upset they're not going to get a nice slice of that $300M deal.
Sip Yep, RuneScape was a good game.

This can be a potential (Two edged sword) because, RuneScape in China means that Jagex.ltd, will be among the worldwide list of "top game developers". remember when that thing called (League of Legends) just started, it was until a lot of japanese players started playing the game and beating everyone else in it, that the game got that "Bang" now every single kid plays it, here in México is among the top games people play, with RuneScape being rarely played, because you don't hear much about RuneScape here.

The good thing: In the case RuneScape gets involved with the Chinese investors, that "Would" mean the game will get more "Recognition" we should see more RuneScape cosplays at comic con, we will see more people online, more accounts created, the game can even and "Hopefully" outmatch League of Legends in popularity...

More players mean, more purchases, more demand on P2P memberships, more accounts, more competitivity, the need for new servers for the newcomers, even we might see a little (Decrease/increase) on the prices.

The other good thing: More players mean we will need "Double the player moderation", double the number of suggestions to be processed, that means jagex will need to hire new mods to split the job charge.

I personally see this as a good opportuity to Jagex.ltd. and idk.. maybe the: Release of eastern lands to conmemorate this Jagex-China milestone? They would feel flattered :)

Basically the mining company wants to buy Runescape so they can mine the game and not receive bans. Runescape will change dramatically and this will kill the authentic feel.

i bet they lose 30% of players within 3 months of the first major update.

******* ******* ******** (IVP) Brought the first MTX to Runescape. now why would i think that a Chinese mining company that's desperate for money wouldn't force MTX on OSRS. Pips can say all his feelgood BS but its not convincing me.

Thanks for keeping us updates. Really looking forward to what the future holds -- an exciting path this will be should the acquisition happen. I think statements going forward are crucial, however, so bold statements will definitely be gripped on to by players.

I will drop my membership faster than I'd drop a Varrock Herald if the acquisition takes place.

The motivation for it is (quoted) "...it would potentially allow us access to the Asian marketplace to a high level.”

I work for an international company, and our support offices and staff in China act like a separate entity with their own rules. There is no transparency, and I have to act like a secret agent just to get around the "wall" to help our customers there.

What's my point? China as a country, and by proxy through its companies, is not interested in anything less than total control. --Total--

The fact that I'm already seeing a blubbering defense of the acquisition tells me that someone went ga-ga over the offer and already sold their soul.

Unlike other posts where people say that their friends quit playing RS over this or that, I can't make that claim. None of my friends play this game. That's how tenuous this membership base is.

Will this affect the levels of (or add) MTX in the games?

Simply put, no. Our approach to how we charge for the games is based on what we feel is right for each of them and that would stay the same should the acquisition happen. We don’t plan for any significant changes on this front.

Everybody knows the Chinese gaming industry basically invented Pay 2 Win in the MMO market.....
