Blue they are letting us discuss it because we would otherwise post threads about it anyway.

Not just that. It is also to gauge reaction. Knowing how customers/players react will let Jagex and the Acquiring company calibrate future moves.

I think it's more to keep the protesters under control. They did something similar when the Squeel of Fortune was released, and even gave it a dedicated forum which mysteriously disappeared one day (taking a petition with over 10,000+ players in it with it).

any update to the update?

It's 9:45pm on Good Friday in the UK.

We'll probably have to wait a few days, but even then I doubt there is anything new that they know that they can tell us.

Tbh, I think Runescape will stay largely the same. Jagex will keep updating it but the new owners wont request all that much if anything. Mainly because this ensures their purchase doesn't suddenly lose all its value.

I do think that they will have a large part to play in the game RS Chronicle.
It fits the profile of a free**um game (to my limited knowledge of it), which is the majority of mobile games in Asia (this market worth 12.2 billion in 2014).

I think this could be the successful venture that the company was looking for in doing more than just hedging their money during the falling yuan.

So you think they'll change Chronicle to a mobile game and leave runescape entirely alone? Nice dream ya got there.. here's mine...

Runescape becomes entirely free to play (and you can buy 'upgrades' to your account; not unlike the 'upgrades' you can currently buy in RS3, just more of it). And that, if it isn't restricted to only those who live in China. Oh and built in fatigue system coming soon.. energy will be redefined for scapers world wide. =)

Change it to a mobile game? No, there's already word that its going to be a cross platform game. So they ARE bringing it to tablets and phones already. They will leave runescape more or less alone because its a working system already that generates a steady inflow of profit. And currently the value of Jagex is held in the game of runescape above all their other products.

Your theory imposes huge amounts of risk onto the buying company. And that's where I don't think you are right. Id also say that your theory is a tad ridiculous, and I think that's intentional on your part.
