I tried to log in, but can't because I would have to disable Jagex Account Guardian first. I know it hasn't been supported for a long time, but I've been using both JAG and authenticator in order to get the best possible security for my account. I really don't mind if I can't play the beta, but when the official NXT client comes out will there be this same problem? Now I really don't care of the beta as it's just a couple of days, but when the client finally arrives I obviously want to play it.
Also I'd like to have a confirmation on whether
having JAG and authenticator is better than having just an authenticator
. As JAG is indeed unsupported, does that reveal any possible ways for hackers to steal my account? Personally I think that it's obviously better to have JAG, too, as it seems very hard to by-pass it. Firstly they would have to hack my e-mail account (though that would be needed anyway, if the hacker wants to do anything useful on the account) and then guess the correct answers to relatively hard questions (it's actually very hard to find out any answers even if the hacker knew me irl).
So in short, why did Jagex even discard JAG? Is there any downsides of using it? Eventually when NXT comes out will I have to disable JAG?
