Im still confused on how this is going to stop gold farming. Wont people just want to gold farm more so they can pay for membership? It might stop people from buying gold from websites, but whos to say people wont start gold farming in order to pay for their membership?

Are there tickets left for runefest from bonds? You mentioned it is only 100, and I just wanted to know if there is still a chance to get one?

Really want to know.

Bonds - no opinion, until time tells we won't see what they will do :P Fingers crossed though.

The video - I feel you missed something. With this is the perfect time to get players on the antibot bandwagon again. Encourage people to report bots, tweet pics, alert mods about new botting areas etc.

Social media could expand botwatch or similar activities to a state where bots would be a long forgotten memory.

I know there have been a lot less recently, but they are slowly coming back - the only real way to end this, is to get the players working with you to help eliminate the remaining problem alongside bonds.

Only combined will this truly work - many, like myself, would be happy to give time to help this cause.

All that aside this is a very positive step in the fight to bring RS back to the player.

I became suspicious of this update by the way it's been introduced so oddly with phrases such as "heart of the game" and no surprise it's an additional micro transaction being brought into the game.

I also have a feeling that the "40-50% of players are buying gold" is a wildly overstated figure that has little evidence to support it. I just hope the same isn't true for the bot banning figures.

Additionally I'm curious how exactly bonds will stop ddosing and general hacking. If people want to download a bot or whatever at the risk of their account I cannot see why bonds being available to purchase would make them change their mind.

I'd like to think this is indeed just an attack on RWT but I have sever doubts.

Gtfo, talking out of your ass.

Please expand a little? Do you feel this was a good update?

At current rates, £2311 for a blue. You're just dipping a LITTLE low.

As bond prices decrease, the price will go up. Please confirm what you're saying rather than just spewing hatred and spreading misconceptions.

This is definitely going to be a controversial update, but in the end I'm POSITIVE it will benefit the game. Other games have a very similar model, some examples are Guild Wars 2, Puzzle Pirates, EVE... and they're all very successful with this business model.

Overall, this is a pretty good update.

EDIT:
Yeah, this is basically selling gold, but ask yourselves if it really matters. Goldfarming cannot be defeated, so I'd much rather see the money go towards Jagex. Many other companies have already adapted this idea, as I mentioned above, and it works great. As long as you're taking other people's money and the gold isn't being directly put into the game.
