My only hope, that Jagex will use the additional profit they get from bonds to fund Runescape's port to mobile devices. I sincerely believe that no game company today should ignore the mobile platforms for their games. You embrace mobile or die, that is the current trend in the gaming industry.

Claiming that this isn't pay to win...is at best ridiculous. Player A Purchases a bond for money and sells it for gold...then repeats. Is this not changing real world money for gp? Please enlighten me.

The introduction of bonds into the game is not making the game pay to win.

A player who has invested time in game that has increased their XP and skills and who has developed the knowledge within the game to use items most effectively is still going to be able to be more successful than a player who has simply traded a bond for an item but doesn't have the same level of knowledge or skill levels.

More successful.....is not answering my question. So your answer basically said that even though we are going to sell gold now thru bonds if you know how to make gold within the game you will be more successful :D . Answer my question please.... Is this not changing real world money for gp? I can't make millions of gold within secs and im almost maxed, How long will the transaction take to purchase bonds and dump them on ge for gold....within secs.

There were two parts to the question - the first was how is this update is not pay to win which hopefully I've already answered for you.

The second part of your question I'm actually a little unsure on what you mean. When you purchase a bond you are buying an item in game that can be used for a number of purposes - membership, spins, or runecoins. This item also functions like any other on the Grand Exchange and in trades with other players. It may be, for example, that you decide because you can make a lot of gold with your experience and knowledge of the game that you wish to purchase bonds from other players for additional spins.

Player A purchases bond for real money, sells bond on ge for gp. Is that not selling gp

My two cents here...

I think that this was overdue. Since SoF was released, we all half-expected something like this to happen. It was inevitable. My biggest gripe is that I wish you were honest with the players earlier.

I don't need to remind anyone about how well SoF was received when it was implemented. If you had been more respectful to your own principles, made a greater effort to explain just how serious the problem was, and be more open to the community, we probably would have taken it better than we had.

That said, I'm relieved to see that there is a response from you, and that you are taking measures to secure your future, the player's future, and the game's future (for which I thank you). I hope lessons have been learnt from this.

Please, is there any danger for an innocuous player who trades bonds with a gold farmer and later gets banned for botting or using stolen credit card info?

I don't think so. You mean the way that you trade your bond to a goldfarmer and he gives you the gold. I don't think you can be banned in any way for that as the bonds are legal.
