A bird does not sing because it has an answer. It sings because it has a song.

Regardless of your post we pay for a service which you currently cannot properly provide. I have personally lost in the region of 100m due to constant disconnections from servers over the last few weeks.

DDoS attacks have been a known problem for a number of years which means that it is a foreseeable risk that you should of already dealt with.

That old excuse of your not responsible to replace lost items etc upon deaths due to server issues means nothing when the blame to properly control foreseeable risk is at your door.

I will wait to see what you are doing about the DDoS attacks since they are still very much apparent today, as they were yesterday, the day before etc etc etc.

If the game is now pretty much unplayable then it is unfair to your consumer base to continue to allow the game to be played.

I totaly agree but on the other hand Jagex also can be caught offguard. I would say members really should recive some kind of compensation. Most of content is unplayable atm. Ranging from PvM, D&D and dunging - no fun at all

not to sound mean or anything....
but you do realise that people dying and loosing items in game is actually good for the economy.
If you go back in the game before we had graves etc, people died, items left the game, which in turn meant the player had to rebuy items back...

On a second note, DDOS attacks bad :D
Cheers

Ok now LAGEX, this is an unimaginable thing that people lost millions yesterday because of your helplessness. Their accounts ought to be scanned now and the money should be returned immediately. Considering the fact most of people pay for this game, this thing should have never happened. Having money from p2p players should have been spent on improving your servers. Now it is too late and you are no longer trustworthy. That is why so many people have left your community. You can no longer be trusted. As I write this messege I consider leaving this community also.

Good luck LAGEX.

Hey, thank you very much for the update. I've been very frustrated for the past few days. This makes me feel much better as an active community member.

Might I add some suggestions? (Granted I don't know much about this kind of stuff, but these are my ideas. I hope this helps a little :P But I doubt it.)

1. Be sure to watch your "host worlds." I remember in the past that by knocking one world out, 17 others followed suit. Please, be sure to keep track of which worlds are the main ones that must not be taken out.

2. I don't know if you've tried this, but try to trace the packets. See if they're being screened through a proxy or another network.

3. Check the locations of the where the packets come from. Obviously do this: if the hackers are this stupid, of course, which I highly doubt they are.

4. PLEASE, PLEASE, PLEASE be sure to change the server ID's. I think that a lot of this could be solved if you changed what ID's the servers operate under.

5. Lastly, try to have the server providers block massive inputs of data. They should be able to do this very easily. For instance, my internet provider has a deal with me to notify me of unusual amounts of data being streamed to/through my network. I've had people use my Wifi as a proxy, as a DDoS network, and all of the above. BE SURE TO BE TIGHT WITH THE INTERNET COMPANIES. They're a great asset to the war on DDoS.

Thanks for keeping the community updated. These are just my thoughts and what I would do if I was in a similar situation. Although I'm sure this stuff won't help at all, I guess it makes me feel better: at least I TRIED to help, right?

Take care and continue to make the community proud. DEATH TO DDOS.

Some play for the grind, while others play for the thrill. Why do I play RuneScape? Before you ask yourself that, think about why people of this community continue to be so loyal.
