Now people like us who pay for members and are going to have our playing disrupted for as much as a week - are we going to be compensated for lost play time, IE granted another week of membership or something similar?

Yeah, still happening. The other week i got dced for like 45 minutes, in the middle of a quest battle, lost over 20m in gear. Been having trouble with the game since the weekend, lost a training dummy and a ports random already today. Not at all pleased with this.

So if someone DDoS u with 400GB data /s u would fix it within a couple of days? I know u pay for it, but the only thing u can do is wait and let them fix it.


Jagex: What if this still happends around DXP Weekend? Will the weekend be moved to another date, or will it still happend?

Thx for the update. In my opinion this is a HUGE problem for the game, and i deeply hope that you put all your attention to this problem... Just the last couple of days, I was thrown out of the game about 5-6 times, and experienced big lagg-moments aswell and there is no doubt that these people who is doing this DDos'ing is going to go full throttle when we hit the Gameblast 15/Double xp weekend. This problem is killing alot of online games and E-sports, and must be taken very seriously. Of cause I believe you take this issue very serious, no doubt, but i just feel like sharing my feelings about this issue with you, since im starting to lose my patience and motivation to keep playing and accomplish my in-game goals, because you simply can't play optimaly with these laggs, especially when in combat or when training Dungeoneering. Hope you find a solution soon or at least a temporarily solution for your big 20-23th february event :)

Wonder if you could create a login/hand off service to where you could have systems public facing to log in and then once logged in to a game world, those worlds could be setup in a VPN configuration. Within the VPN only traffic emanating from the game clients would be accepted.

You could further this idea by creating a random spread spectrum like setup for the log in ip address. You could basically take a large chunk of IP addresses and randomly rotate them for every log in. OFC this would be best done in IPV6 but likely doable for I**4 aswell.

The idea is to give the attackers a large number of Ip addresses to guess in order to attack the log in and then with the VPN obscure the server Ip addresses from the outside world and control traffic in a way that is harder on an open network.

Just a thought or 2.
