The Authenticator is brilliant. It's really easy, simple and quick to install and protects your account very well. I'm glad Jagex introduced it to the community, it adds a very significant extra layer of security to players' accounts.

this sounds great. wish i did it.. just been hacked for like 140m that took me years to earn so i now quit the game.. sorry but didnt know that hackers were that good these days and it was all coz of a link to ur forums as i am unfamiliar with clan wars and all that so got invited to a clan realised what was happening i knew he ***** get on unless i logged out and he managed to turn my internet off i dont even know how to report people anymore i think runescape neeeds to sort it the **** out. goodbye runescape had my account 10 years.

im sure the link wasn't to the official rs forums, it was most likely to a pshing site of fake rs forums, should be carefull of what links you click.

I have a problem: I changed my pc and due to the fact that I lost my old yahoo email account I cannot pass the Jagex Account Guardian. In other words, I cannot access the email sent by the Account Guardian.
I passed the Google Authenticator, so this really is my account. I have been playing Runescape since 2006 and I never committed something out of the law, so please believe and help me, My new yahoo account is mihneamar31@yahoo.***.

the authenticator Is to protect your personal rent a pixels at all cost?
You place the authenticator on your account via a smart phone.
You will need your phone to log in every day for the authenticator, your username and ******** to.
And not hackers ever will get your account? It is that 100% hack proof?

I've had a recurring membership for the past 3 years straight. I've stuck with this game for a very long time (at least to me). I do not plan on quitting this game because of any update because you do have to change with the times. Nothing stays the same.

This so-called security authenticator is completely not working for me. I have a smart phone but the authenticator refuses to work. I've spent 3 days on this. The codes keep coming up incorrect. I have tried to fix the time. That hasn't worked. I've tried every suggestion I could find on this and nothing has worked. I don't want to download anything else on my laptop as its old and can't handle much more (and I keep it very clean of junk). I do not want to go out and buy a USB stick to use the authenticator because I believe our account security shouldn't cost the players one cent (not to mention I have a habit of losing things).

I've decided not to use this even if JAG is taken down. I'll just make sure my email and ********* are very secure.

I would like to know why JAG is being taken down. I've read this entire thread (yes, the entire thing), and I haven't seen a good reason being given for this.

Thank you for updating this Mod Williams and the other Jagex Developers who have put this into the game it realy means something to us. I mean many more peoples account has been hacked with good stats etc... This will also prevent other players from quitting too :)
