Not to worry! RuneScape Authenticator does not use your phone, data, or internet service to generate a code, so as long as you still have the device when your phone loses service, you will still be able to generate a code and log in. "Let them Bake Pie"

I'm having the same issue as many others it seems... Approximately every 2 weeks (not the 30 that I ticked) it asks for my authentication code again. My son and a few of my friends are also having the same problem. I saw something about a local storage fix on another thread, but could not actually find instructions for any such fix. I use the RS Client.

Please can a Jmod or someone who actually knows what they're talking about reply to this problem (or better still make a new pinned thread) and give us all a details fix?

I'm really sick of having to put in my authenticator code (have more than one account) over and over. Saw a comment it's no big deal... they obviously only have one account.

It was a really quick and simple thing to set up and it's always a relief to know your account is secure, especially with the amount of time invested into the account and if you have any rare/high value items which you don't want to lose.

Generating and putting in the code literally takes a minute, and in my opinion it's no hassle really compared to the potential damage it could do if your account did unfortunately get hacked.

an idea for jagex:

they could make a authenticator themself. but not like an app, but like a real object. it would sell for about 10 euro. everyone would then be able to buy these thing. not only do they protect our account, but jagex also could make them look cool. I finally got authenticator and am wondering some thing about it hopefully someone could answer. Is the initial secret code being entered just for linking the device to my account? Am I supposed to reuse that same secret code to access my code generator? Because I don't remember it. What happens if someone tries linking another device to my account? What happens then? @wilsonmagna

I don't have a device to receive a code and my Windows computer has broke. I'm now trying to use my Mac laptop to play. How do I access my account? There aren't any alternative options for people without a device and on a Apple operating system!

I have found an alternative for everyone who doesn't have a device and even if you do its 10x easier to get a code! For both Windows and Mac. Download google chrome and they have a google authenticator extension for free :)
