I have a stupid question to ask

Is disabling the authenticator the same as deleting it? if not, is there a way to delete/remove it for good?

Well, I'm back again.

And I notice that after over 60 pages, not only has Jagex not answered most of our questions, they have stopped answering us altogether. Players pleading for help, trying to understand why this change is deemed necessary, are being answered and assisted by other players. And while this is a wonderful thing and speaks volumes about the Runescape player community, it also says much less complimentary things about Jagex.
On the whole I believe the majority would prefer that you leave JAG in place and allow those of us who feel more comfortable with it to continue using it. There is no need to force so drastic a change on the players. Let those who like the Authenticator go ahead and use it.

And allow the rest to continue as before with JAG. The players should be the ones to choose, not Jagex.

It wont remember my computer for 30 days if I click the Facebook Log In. I have yet to try typing my ******** in and clicking remember it, to see if this solves the problem. Regardless it was a small oversight I think. Just a heads up

Will update once try the other way.

So in a summary this app can see, what apps I use, what I do and look at when I'm on the web and my history (everything I ever looked at in the past)!!! It can view my calendar (so it knows what I plan to do in the future) , And it can view all my contacts, it can access my storage, and it can access my microphone to record me when I'm not aware of it, ect ect.

I and many other people don't install apps that ask for unnecessary information, And I'm surprised that Jagex wants us to give away personal information to a unknown source in order to have our accounts protected on their game! This is disturbing.

And trying to use other methods of the Authenticator is a big hassle for people who don't want it and new player that just join RS. Thought I would say that so Dark Jam*i won't post something like he has been posting lol.

+1 to the guy who posted the above quote! He is very smart!

Three reasons why I refuse to use the Authenticator...

1: Because unlike JAG, it's protection is limited to 30 days at a time.
2: Some people do not have smart phones or are not-so-tech-savvy.

Way to go, Jamflex. You've replaced a clunky, complicated security system with an even more impractical one. If there was one thing I could still appreciate from this game was that third-party apps were entirely optional - now that's soon to no longer be true. I actually liked JAG more (even though I forgot one of my 5 keys, I admit)
