I'm on the grandfathered rate, but I bought gold membership last year because of the items and runecoin rewards.
I was willing to do gold membership again this year as long as the rewards were worth it, but they are not.
This year's price is even higher than regular membership, let alone the grandfathered rate. And all of the rewards SUCK. Why loyalty points instead of runecoins?
And all of the promotional items for 2013 are really lame.
I couldn't give a crap about one world being a VIP world. It's not so crowded on other worlds that something like that is even necessary.


If you made gold membership the same price as the grandfathered rate, then I don't mind paying a year in advance for a few lame bonuses. But if you're going to charge me significantly more than the grandfathered rate, then the bonuses have to be worth it.

Seriously though, each of these packages is a complete joke. You're asking people to pay more money for a deal that offers basically nothing.

VIP means nothing when worlds are already completely empty. I imagine those special Q&As will be filled with evasive or on the spot answers that will be superseded by an Above the Lore anyway.

The other points have been beaten to death so no point in reiterating..

Are you even reading what´s going on with players here specially with gold 2013 members.... we have experience in the subject, we are the voice of 2013 gold membership experience.... or you are just erasing comments.....

Now I'm usually a supporter of Jagex, but I find it alarming that this is the FAQ thread where they say we can come to get our questions answered, but through 13 pages of questions and complaints the first real response from a JMod was this on the top of page 14. Not an answer to any question and not responding to any complaints, but this useless reply to one of the few responses praising the new membership. I'd rather you just keep ignoring your own FAQ thread than respond like that Mod Infinity.

Not going to criticize this year’s promotion, just going to say that last year’s offer had so much value that it was a no brainer for me, I signed up for Gold. This year, I have to pass.
In my view, bad idea to replace the runecoins with loyalty points.

I understand you're frustrated but we aren't forcing anyone to purchase this package, if you feel it isn't attractive enough then you can of course abstain from becoming a VIP.

Remember starting next week players will be able to purchase the packages using bonds! :)
