I really appreciate the fact that Jagex gives us opportunity to vote if prestige should be added to the game or not.

I voted for no. The idea wasn't bad, but it don't think it's the right way to go, or something the game would need. RuneScape has had one player with maxed total xp, which is S U O M I. Just one. And right now we have none. And divination is quite slow + we'll be getting another skill in 2014, so I'd say there's plenty of room for competition. Rankin players with 20m total xp over the guys with 200m xp in a skill just doesn't work.

If you want to add competition into the game, you can also make "All Time Highscores" and "Active Highscores". In the all time highscores you would have all the players with their all time xp. And in the active highscores you would have all the players who would've signed in to the game in certain period of time (for example player who's been logged in to the game for 10 hours or more during the last 6 months). That way you would have something where people could compete by comparing themselves to the active players and see how they're doing compared to the all time players.

lvl 120 in all skills sounds great.

I can see how this can mess up contentt currently available in gielinor.
So make the east available to sail or travel to. this way you can make new content based on 99-120 levels. instead of making updates every week. wait for a month or 3 and give us something really big or something. there's a 100 better options then prestige system. prestige messes up a lot and its only beneficial for people who actually care about ranking.

To me. I just want to have fun in this game and play new content rather then spending months/years doing it all over again

I've honestly gone through 12 pages so far, and I have yet to see any valid reason for a person to vote "no". All the people who've said no to this, are because they don't want to lose their current spot on the hi-scores, or because they want a different update.
Jagex, please, please, do not listen to the voice of the illogical and idiotic.
There is no good reason NOT to introduce prestige.
The only reasons given to not implement prestige are self-beneficial, rather than game-beneficial.

Prestige would be the best update this game has had in a LONG time, and it would also bring back a lot of the lost player-base.

If Prestige actually gets pushed-back for release, or not released at all, I'm extremely disappointed and will have lost the last hope for this game.

Edit: THIS HAS NOTHING TO DO WITH OTHER GAME UPDATES. The people voting no, because they'd rather see a different update, need to just have their votes ignored.
Also, these people asking for level 120 in skills are ridiculous. Ever since dungeoneering came around with the 120 skill cap, everyone got this idea in their head that every skill should be raised to a 120 cap. This would imbalance the game beyond belief, and would require years to release updates for new 120 armours/weapons/bosses levels. These kind of people need to too also be ignored.

If my current XP would've had a place in the prestige system
(e.g. my 70M Attack xp could be used to roll prestige multiple times until it ran out, instead of just once)
then I would've voted yes. This would've given our hard work a place and still opens up the highscores for competition.
But as that is not the case and I'm almost certain that nobody will give a damn about a second-rate legacy set of highscores where this XP would be intact, I voted no.

Thanks for the poll.

Raise the level cap! Wait come up with stuff to do at the higher levels and then raise the level cap! I still don't understand why they only did that with dungeoneering!

Simply because there were not enough room to keep it at 99.

If Jagex adds more content to do for 100-120 on all skills then we got that fixed.

I'll never understand why runescape players vote no on these type of things because they won't use it, or don't want to use it, or think it's like a different game.

Stop being selfish. Some of us were excited about this update! Uoure denying those that want it simply because you don't want to use the prestige system, or because it reminds you of CoDfish. That's 100% selfishness, and we allll know that if Jagex had named it anything else, there would be more votes in favor of it. prestige is in countless games, many of which vastly predate your fish shooter.

Grow up.

Yo, I was for prestige for a few days and kind of understand why it's not the best way to go, you can't just stereotype all of us as selfish, otherwise you're being kind of selfish yourself.

Beware of your own opinions, they are your worst enemy. Cheers.

Point 1: aren't you being selfish by asking those who don't want prestige implemented to essentially vote "yes" because this is an update you , and a few others, want?

Looks to me like the majority does not want it.

Point 2: also, it's "you're".
An attorney defends a man sued for walking around town in his underwear. It was a brief case.
