Oh wow, and I thought you would actually keep at least 1 of your promises.
"At times in 2012, it felt like the SoF and SGS releases dominated our release schedule and news feed, and that some of the content just didn't feel like RuneScape. The team is certainly moving towards a better balance as time has gone on: I hope you'll agree that our more recent micro-payment updates are more in tune with the wider game, and that we've not released a micro-payment update on a week with no other content."
It isn't an exact promise (although I think that you may have promised us this in another article) but you implied that you would do 2 things in 2013 regarding the SOF:
1. Reducing the amount of SOF promotions - This quite clearly hasn't happened
2. Not releasing a promotion on a no-update week - And you have properly broken that promise with this update
The thing that really puzzles me is that the content meant to be coming out this week surely would have involved the micro transactions team due to it being a micro transaction update with the merge. So how come you didn't move people from the SOF promotion portion of the team to help out on the merge unless you consider the SOF to be more important than actual ingame content that... well how do I put this... THAT PEOPLE ACTUALLY LIKE AND WANT!
This month we have had 2 content updates in 4 weeks, this sort of thing used to be unheard of when you were a company with morals and decent standards. The article I took the earlier quote out of was a joke to read with Mark Gerhard (who unfairly gets away with little criticism while Mod Mark takes all of the blame for everything that goes wrong) telling us this would be the "year of the player". Seriously the article was from the 22nd of January if you want to look it up and it really does hype up this year, shame it turned out nothing like they implied it would be, the amount of members on the hiscores keeps on getting lower and lower, it is a sad time for Runescape.
