Just answering a few more repeating themes:

The notice needed to be translated, and this takes time. Players may therefore have already been aware of the delay. In regards to players already being aware, an official notification was still needed due to the banner giving a specific date. If you were already aware before the news post, that's good, the news post was for those who weren't aware.

There was no official announcement on social media of the delay as far as I'm aware. I can't speak for other JMods but I only mentioned there would be an announcement later in the day (this news post).

Everyone is disappointed with a delay, developers don't like having to do it, but it is better to push the content back a day or so than to launch and have things go wrong.

What's wrong with getting it finished in time?

After all you are Java Gaming Experts, you should know that this can sometimes happen, so why don't you do things ahead of schedule like most normal people do if they think that you are going to have problems? Allow yourself some time in order to do things...

Either get your act together for the thousands of PAYING members, and I don't just mean this update, or stop promising a game that you cannot deliver.

"Behind the Scenes is a sneak peek at the planned game updates that we hope to launch in the coming month.

This, however, is only a plan - not a promise - that a particular update will be released in a particular way or at a particular time. To get you the highest quality updates as quickly as possible, we usually keep on tweaking and testing right up until the moment before release, so sometimes things change or take a bit longer than expected. We aren't afraid to change our plan if necessary, as we will never launch an update before it is ready."

They put this at the bottom of every BTS, some of you people need to learn how to read.

Most folks know that. But when there's so much build up given, in-game notifications, banners on the main site, the Friday BTS video dedicated to it, there's MORE than enough evidence that it should have been out today.

I dunno. No harsh feelings towards anyone specific, Michelle. It's not like I'm hating on you specifically. There just should seriously be better actions taken in the event that something like this happens.

It takes three seconds for any employee to go onto the RSOF, onto Future Game Updates, General.. or anywhere really and take note of the MASSIVE amount of threads posted questioning as to where the update is. You generally have a fair timeframe as to when the update countdown begins - so when that doesn't happen the players begin questioning.

Is it thought that they (for some reason) go onto Facebook or Twitter to ask the world? I would really hope not. No, the obvious thing would to be go onto a public discussion forum to try and find an answer. Having a JMod stickied thread from the moment they know something is wrong (whether or not it's a total postponing, or even a warning that the update will occur later in the day) would save the people who fork their money over to the company a whole lot of trouble in the long run.

And if you we're actually reading peoples post's maybe you would realize most of us aren't upset with the update delay. That's whatever, its just a stupid Solomans update anyways.

It's how it was handled that is irritating people. Them trying to cover up a delay by hiding the banner, then not giving any word about it for quite some time. Now we're hearing about how it needed to be translated or something, which clearly takes hours to do.

All of this could of been solved by simply posting on the RSOF "Update delayed, sorry"

EDIT: Also want to add, as Fluff Fox has said I'm not targeting you, Mod Michelle, with my posts. This is in general. And I appreciate that you posted this sticky, even with it being late. It would just be really nice if Jagex as a company would quit being so secretive, trying to sneak around the players. And just simply communicate. Most the tension between players and Jmods at current is because of this. You guys don't want to deal with us because we're always upset. And we're (well for the most part, it's mainly what irritates me) generally upset because of the lack of communication and Jmod/Player interaction.

Thanks for the response but I'd still like to know why, when something involving MTS gets delayed, there's an announcement for it, but updates are delayed all the time all the time without warning?

It really makes Jagex seem like they don't care unless money is involved.

@Miille:

What Xerdge stated. Most of the people; like myself, moaning on here aren't complaining about the delay itself. We're complaining about the obnoxious lack of proper communication to inform us that there would be such a delay. Why it took hours to post a message containing 10 sentences that confer nothing elaborate is beyond me.

Maybe it is you who should have read.

Is it Me or Does the Term " It needed to be Translated " Sounds like they are saying they needed to Dumb Down about the delay so that the masses could understand. As that is what " It needed to be translated " sounds like to me. Like they had big words and fancy terms that they had to dumb down for their " Customers " But it could just be me Curse Combatants

That does seem like the only plausible reason. I'm guessing it's a subtle reminder about microtransactions.
