There is some definite room for improvement. Even in Bandos (armour) a lot of the abilities seemed overpowered. If all NPCs receive an LP boost, and greater defensive capabilities, the new player abilities might balance out. In the beta I was able to camp black demons without food or prayer, something I would have needed prayer for in "general runescape". Finding a setup for most monsters was pretty tedious. I'd spend more time trying to figure out what abilities to use and armour to wear than I would actually killing the NPCs. I like the "gap filling" of combat related levels, especially defense, but there still isn't much incentive to train defense, for most pkers anyway. Shielding abilities can definitely be useful, reflecting damage for instance, but there are still many other ways to achieve the same result without defense, prayer for example. Props to the Jagex staff who wrote the game code, my fps barely dropped, despite the new and numerous combat animations. The new stat system didn't work well for me. It was harder to see what made certain armour types better than others without previously knowing they were "better". The LP boosting, with regards to armour, made gearing up or switching from shield to offhand difficult because of the "max lp" fluctuations. A LP modifier, displaying total LP with armour bonuses would have been very helpful. The new keyboard involvement was sublime, but again, difficult to optimally setup with so many options.
