i have found a few problems with the beta, but first off due to al the complaints already made i want 2 say that you guys have done a great job already.
the graphix are kick ass and everything works pretty good the lagg is bad but just put graphix on min and its smooth running. The overall rework looks and already handles great
now about the complaints, when you put on armour it doesnt give a one time health boost. so when you put it on you will have to eat/restore your constitution up to maximum that shouldnt be that way :P
the action bar is great, but when you put abillities or prayers or anything in the actionbar a big explantion screen pops up and with me old skooling inventory up tekst box up action bar on top of that and the explanation screens when you use a abbilitie, well there is not much game screen left :/ there should be a little reorganize in it.
third and for now final one, when you pop a deflect prayer it doesnt deflect damage or protect you, is that just a tweek we have to get used to or is it still disabled?
to end this on a good note, great new prayers great thinking of the refund for dung tokens great thinking for minigame items (goliath gloves imbued rings etc) and great preparation with the free armour/weapon supplys and even consumables like runes and bolts and even pots, thanks jagex mod mark and the crew :)

Wow...
This beta is seriously awesome. I've been playing RuneScape for about a year and a half now, and this has got to be one of the best updates to this game. Ever. Of all time.
Usually, I use melee, and the additions/revisions done to the melee combat system are really cool. Duel-wielding, FTW. Even the shield and sword combo that I didn't usually use before is starting to appeal to me now. I haven't checked out Ranging and Magic yet, but from what I can tell, this new system is going to be awesome.

Few things
I'm a a lvl 138 and have loved the freedom of combat in this game. I tried the beta today and was quite disappointed.
1. Kills take a lot longer than normal even using abilities constantly.
2. Hp is out of control. You said when you made it x10 your lvl that it'd allow more things. But having over 8,000hp? I highly doubt that's needed....
3. There is such a thing as TOO much freedom, dual wielding is completely op.
4. Needing the herb lvl to drink potions? Really? I potted from 94 herb to make ovls instead of spending another 20mil on 2 lvls. I get on the beta to try bossing on it, and can't even use my ovls. Plus prayer renewals are widely used and can't be unless you have 94.
5. It's highly inconvenient to talk while doing cb since you have to click on the text box.
6. Your whole comment that you can still click and wait like normal is completely invalid. If you don't use abilities, kills will take 3-4x longer than normal.
7. The whole no exp for lower lvl things is completely absurd. Runescape is supposed to have the freedom to get exp however you choose. By doing this you limit greatly how we can get exp.
8. In God Wars Dungeon, General Graador is a lvl 170 while the goblins are lvl 100? How can a general of a god and a wimpy goblin be close to the same lvl?
9. So many other Mmo's use hot bars, if I wanted to use it, I'd play a different game.
10. Lastly, maxed combat loses all meaning with this system. Being level 200 means you have two 99 instead of 138 meaning you have 5 99s and a 96. I, and many many others, worked hard to achieve max combat, and now it's a total joke.

I definitley dont like how it removes the health bonus when u take armour off, and then it doesnt give it back to you when you re-equip the same armour. i hate seeing my HP indicator flashing like im in danger of dying, and when im wearing the armour that i just put back on, that is what it does until i eat more food or regain health.
i hope this is a glitch, becasue if not, then food prices will probably go up far too much because people will be buying food just to get their health bonus back before they go back into combat.

@Karapar888, no wonder you like it so much. You've only played a year and a half, you haven't seen the best of Runescape. Runescape was much better about two years ago. Now that the SoF and EoC are here, this year is ruined.

New combat styles are good and I like the adrenalin bar to use the specials, needs to be simplified as there is just too much to take in, problem trying to chat with number box above chat open as u have to click in chat box each time you want to talk, don't like the new combat level, lots of people have worked hard and spent a lot of money and time to get combat level up with prayer / summoning and I think it is unfair just to take this achievement away from long term players. Had to reduce graphics to stop lag on a couple of Beta worlds. Don't like the fact you have to eat food to replenish health bar when changing clothing, should be full when you equip the clothing / items. Don't like the fact your old spell book has gone and you have to add your regular non combat spells into the number boxes like teleporting it wastes boxes if you do a lot of moving about like farmers etc. Overall a good idea but needs lots of tweaking and I just hope Jagex listen to the comments listed from all these good people and don't jump in and ruin a perfectly good game just to try and keep up with other mmo games, people play RS because they like the setup and I think if too much change is made Jagex will see a large reduction of members.

I did not get selected for the beta even though I have played since 2007 and have never botted, gold farmed or auto clicked or anything so what I say here is based off other peoples comments.
I do not understand the armor increasing life points sooooo much thing, and frankly I do not like the idea. Just make the abilities less uber powerful so we do not need uber hp, or adjust the armors def values. This is currently my main concern.
I read someone say that you do not get xp until after you finish killing something, I never ever liked that in any MMORG or RPG I ever played. I think its dumb, you should get xp during the fight like we do now in regular RS. That makes inf. more sense.
Also, needing an herblore level to drink the potion sounds really dumb at first. Just make it less effective for people with less knowledge of herblore if you must do something, or based on percentage like it is now but if someone has played enough to earn the money to buy the Rocktails and super potions to use then they earned it.
Although something to consider Jagex may be thinking about bots, and how many bots are a certain level because its easy to get and use certain gear/food for the same reasons so they may be trying to make it harder on the bots. Also they may be trying to balance out the economy, I mean, why use trout if lobsters are so much of a better value? So I sorta understand the eat/healing limitations thing.
I cannot really say much more until I get to test it for myself. But I know its going to need work, it is just a test firing guys not the finished product. (I hope) I just really hope Jagex listens to the majority vote. Make a bunch of poles for what changes to make.

I think this is where I submit suggestions and the like...
Okay! I waited until my client crashed to go on the forums because the update is so fun I couldn't bring myself to stop. ;w;
I found a few things that could use some tweaking (perhaps).
The tabs in the spellbook section are a tad large for the amount of options put in it and on top of that you have to click the icon and not the whole tab. In example; the home teleport tab. Instead of clicking on the whole box you have to click on the symbol. And let me tell you this, I have a habit of clicking right to the side of it! >.<
I don't know if this has been fixed yet but as soon as I got on the beta I went and checked out Daemonheim. I did a floor and was really impressed with the combat but after I left my "Home Teleport" still read "Dungeon Home Teleport". I had to exit to the lobby and log back in to fix it.
As for the abilities, when I hover over the abilities on the hotbar (as I don't prefer using the number keys, I never have) a large pup-up appears telling me what it does and what requirements I need. I feel that since they are so large and appear above the hotbar it covers a good portion of the screen and is rather distracting. Perhaps if it appeared underneath the hotbar (on top of the chat box) it would be better?
The last this I want to bring up is the new anatomy of the characters. Now, I haven't gone through my anatomy classes yet but they look a little wonky. The hands may be too large (but I love the fingers!!!!!AHHH!!) and the head a tad small. But this is only for the female characters since I play as one.
Also.
Fan-service outfits! Haha! Especially those Bandos Tassets. I feel exposing that much skin may not be beneficial for safety. ;) One wrong move and you got a sword suck in your belly. It looks very nice though.
And the Batwing Robes.
Just a touch impractical! Haha. Very aesthetically pleasing though, I will give you that.
Good job on the first day of beta though! <3
