I like the new graphics, and dual wield. Get rid of the rest. Especially the change in level requirements for armor. I spent a week training my defense to 65 for Bandos armor and now you're telling me that i have to get more than twice the experience i already have for this, no way. This gets into the game and I'm gone.

Really great update jagex, I might continue my membership because of this, even though I can only use the beta on the weekends, but I still think its great!
Though there is a slight glitch when female characters wear the tokhaar-kal cape or whatever it is.
Sincerely,
Lord Bawl Sax

I personally, have a strong dislike to the beta, I think it is fixing something that isn't broken. The old system was fine, yes it wasn't as advanced as the beta is, but people liked it, I don't know anyone that complained about it. I think that the graphics are great and duel wielding is cool but as for all the abilities and just general combat itself... Well I think its just making the game too complicated. People like runescape because it is simple and afkable. Also, when you equip armour that boosts lifepoints you have to use a lot of food to get back to full health. Perhaps it could be changed so that when you are not in combat situations/pvp areas that your health automatically goes to its max? I dont really have a problem with the new combat levels, yes pures will be annoyed and if I had a pure I would most likely object but it doesn't really look like pures will function in the 'beta' runescape anyway... Perhaps when beta is released in the actual game, half the worlds could be 'ability' worlds with all the beta things and then you could have some worlds just getting a graphics update?
Thanks

hi im anthony..
ive recently logged on to the beta and was kinda disappointed..
first i couldnt ware rune. i played thisgame sence 2003... so im a veteran ive maxed a main out first as i thought that was the "fad" back " in the day" and came to found out i liked pking on bases of stratagy. witch i found out was perparing my skills in away that i thought was fun and strong.. that is being 99 99 47. im not quite there yet. but as of nowi dont play on my main anymore and ive been working around the clock on my pure. i quested and i skilled. and i also have almost a 1900 total there for my pure isnt for pking only.
when i logged on and found out i couldnt ware half of my gear i signed right off and was disgsted. i will not support the defence doesnt matter because the reason i played this game was for the fact that i could make a player any way that """ I """ wanted to.
if you guys want to get rid of that freedom of the game... then i will have to stop playing as i did when they took out the pking.
i spend maybe 10 percent of my time in the wild... so that said. im a skiller i did it also on my main. i liked to cut my wood fletch my bows string them alch them to gain my skills. so i find my self i higher end runescape player...
this acount was made in 2004 and was my second acc that i was making while playing my first sence then. now i finally got it the way i want it and your gunna take it away. well guess what " scratch the name runescape and call it "" EVOLUTION OF COMBAT"" not rs call it eoc..
i love the actual emotes and maybe the 2 weapon weilding whatever. but you are reamping the game in a way that chaanges what runescape is, making it like every other game.
there is a reason why i play runescape still while im 21. and not a more repersentable game that all my friends played.
youll loose alot of members just like you did back in 2007.
call me a complainer as i did not express how i would fix the fact. i am complaining. rs fine how it is.

The beta does have some good improvements but overall i think its a bad direction for jagex to go in. Really bad honestly.
Everyone that has played Runescape for even six months or more has seen serious updates that majorly effect our Runescape lives from the new Squeal of Fortune to the removal of pvp and bounty worlds. Many players will instantly start to criticize the updates and some will over exaggerate them and quit. I think out of all updates so far, this will cause the most people to quit. It's very different and will create a whole new world for Runescape players, but will this new world be better than before? I think not.
I'm sure many people will agree with me on this one, but i play Runescape because its simple and more laid-back than most other RPGs and i can kill monsters and skill without constant worry and distress. The new update will take that feeling away I feel, as pretty much everything has been changed to "even out" all players more.
I can definitely understand why Jagex would want to go through with this update, because in their eyes, change is good and they've shown that in the past. But it seems out of all games i have played, Runescape players take change the worst. Many people love the beta i'm sure, but a lot of people don't as well. I just wish that Jagex would be more player-friendly in the way of listening to our suggestions for game updates and such. The mods claim they listen but how much do they actually care about us? Not enough I think
Now I'm sorry for rambling on but the bottom line is that bigger isn't always better, especially in updates. You don't need to add all these special abilities and make life point boosts in armor to please us. I personally would like the increased visual updates and that's it. I don't think my opinion will really matter but Jagex asked for feedback so I'm giving it.
Here's a word to the wise Jagex: Don't fix what isn't broken.

There are some good things in this update, and many bad things. It is interesting to have combat include a heavy amount of strategy compared to the simple "eat rockfish, drink potion" stuff that currently outlines fighting strategy.
But that's not a good thing. I like fighting in RuneScape because unlike the ten games at the top of my mind with a similar fighting interface to the beta, with the current RS you can just relax while your character fights, and if fighting against a high-lp training target, like the monkey guards or living rock monsters, I even managed to multitask, fighting while doing homework. With the update, combat itself is a more vivid activity, but that means I have to fully focus in a fight to get the strongest hits, the lowest food and potion consumption, and the fastest experience.
I understand the thought behind the changes, and it is nice to finally see an even combat triangle, as well as dual wielding, but once the novelty of it being a change goes away, I can easily see myself enjoying the combat section of RuneScape less than before. All the time you spent working on the biggest update ever in RuneScape history could have been much better spent making new quests and content, for example, there was no need to wait until now to release full bandos and armadyl. And a general tip, when you see a popular suggestion in the forums, such as dual wielding or balancing the cb triangle, try not to completely blow the idea out of proportion as you did with the EoC.
