There are some good things in this update, and many bad things. It is interesting to have combat include a heavy amount of strategy compared to the simple "eat rockfish, drink potion" stuff that currently outlines fighting strategy.
But that's not a good thing. I like fighting in RuneScape because unlike the ten games at the top of my mind with a similar fighting interface to the beta, with the current RS you can just relax while your character fights, and if fighting against a high-lp training target, like the monkey guards or living rock monsters, I even managed to multitask, fighting while doing homework. With the update, combat itself is a more vivid activity, but that means I have to fully focus in a fight to get the strongest hits, the lowest food and potion consumption, and the fastest experience.
I understand the thought behind the changes, and it is nice to finally see an even combat triangle, as well as dual wielding, but once the novelty of it being a change goes away, I can easily see myself enjoying the combat section of RuneScape less than before. All the time you spent working on the biggest update ever in RuneScape history could have been much better spent making new quests and content, for example, there was no need to wait until now to release full bandos and armadyl. And a general tip, when you see a popular suggestion in the forums, such as dual wielding or balancing the cb triangle, try not to completely blow the idea out of proportion as you did with the EoC.
