I know a lot of people that are just "devastated" about the new combat update coming, because it's "too complicated" or it "broke pking." I admit there are a lot of problems with it at the moment, but THAT'S WHY IT'S A BETA. People don't seem to get that. But overall, I like the fact that it is going to be based on skill instead of what items you have. I think people are upset that it isn't going to be easy anymore. I had a great setup for a prayer character that has been serving me well, but I go into the beta and find out I suck. After working with it for a while, however, I figured out a skill setup that suits me, and I don't suck anymore. It makes me strategize instead of just making sure I have strong enough equipment/prayer/food and clicking away. I think a lot of people are going in, upset because their characters aren't as effective, but I am pretty certain that it's because they aren't using the skills much. They are trying to just click like that old combat. It doesn't work. Also, the skills are going to be much easier to grasp as a new player, getting them over time. Already having most of the skills can be overwhelming. A couple of things I liked: the new prayer organization, condensing the defense, strength, etc, prayers is very nice and I like the icons. The new icon for restore is less misleading, because at a glance it used to look like a health restore prayer. Also, the new hue of the rune armor is much better; it looked too megamanish before. I sent a lot of bugs in, but I understand it's a beta, the point is that it isn't finished. I personally love the multicombat everywhere, because you can play with friends better now. If they have it so you get the kill if you had the first hit, it will stop people from stealing kills. I'm not sure I like the experience-only-after-kill change though. I'm sure many people are going to rage quit over this, but in the long run, people will get used to it, and I think many people will love it.
