As always, I have trouble understanding what you guys are saying in your videos (seriously, articulate), but I turned the captions option on, and your QA session about RS3 turned into a discussion about the external fire peter, behind the scenes feeling that extends, polenta (Paul M), news alongside danny goldmembership (LOL!), and perhaps my favorite of all mistranslations:

Just watch this video with the captions on, it is hilarious. Oh, no, this one is the best:

Lol, just watched the video, and turned captions on for a bit. Umm, your captions do not match what was said. It was amusing to read though what the translator thought you were saying.

I suggest you do your own translation of the vid, because it will be totally confusing to anyone who may be hearing impaired. But a great laugh for those of us that are not, as it currently stands.

uh...nothing will be wiped from the beginning because the sign going e_v_a_'s reinstate is just playing it fruit vegetable farm states that's exactly the same steps

I'm too sleepy to watch this now, but not enough that I can say this:
if you people don't like EoC, I'm sorry, but if you can't adapt don't bother complaining. If you still wanna play just wield a shield and weapon w/o using abilities and it'll be pretty much the same as before.

The first question about Veteran players seems like it was glazed over. All they focused on is the Gold and Silver subscribers (which are fairly new subscribers). I have been a Runescape member for almost 7 years now, never missing a single payment, and I don't get access to the beta like all of the newer subscribers? This seems a bit unfair to me. I have not received an email about the beta yet. I would love to have a reply on why Veteran players are not getting into the beta at all.

The current game client is written in Java, which is a programming language that can be used to create standalone applications. HTML5 is not a programming language as such, it only runs in browsers. If they were to create a downloadable client for it, they would essentially be creating a browser, their own version of Chrome or Firefox or whatever minus a few bits of UI like the address bar. There would be no point.

What you can do is create a Chrome Application Shortcut which will give a similar experience to using the current Java client, but still running in Chrome. There's a guide on that here .

yea there would be. Same reason why they created the game client when people can just play off browser as it is now. And compared client to game play on fire fox the game is a lot more stable on client. Once I got client i uninstalled java because it was just as waste of space at that point. I'm a big entropy fan.

Whether you realized it or not, you actually just said the exact reason why there's a downloadable client now - because running it in a browser requires installing Java. If you can't install Java for whatever reason, you can still use the downloadable client. That won't be the case anymore once the client uses HTML5 instead of Java. So no, there won't be a point in making a downloadable client.

What you're asking them to make is their own fully featured browser that can only visit one website. Why would they waste their time doing that when there are already lots of browsers out there?

I frequent various MMORPG web sites and forums, Will it be permissible to post screen shots and even video capture of beta play? And, I have heard the 17th a lot as the start date for closed beta....that's this month right...like tomorrow? I bought premier gold at the end of last year, and even so I registered my interest before the close date for the beta...I am anxiously awaiting the email (I will probably be checking my email every 5-10 min from 12:01 am on lol), when can I expect it?
