i wonder if it will be F2P or MEM? and if it will involve the power of the gods in general or specific ones (you use the power of bandos to devine this or the power of zaros to devine that). Because after you give us the update where we can side with a specific god it will suck if it deals with the gods powers specificly

I can't imagine Juna wearing a skillcape. She seems a little... big, wouldn't you say? ;)

I think, or should i say i hope that people are jumping to the wrong conclusion with divination. everyone seems to think it will be fortune telling which i could not see working as a skill. There are many forms of Divination and if we compare them to what we already knew about the new skill, fortune telling does not fit.

Mod Mark has said before that the first skill will be a gathering skill. He said rather cryptically in one of the livestreams, I believe it may have been the one on lore, that players would be gathering something and using it to show their alliance to a god.

This certainly fits with divination as divination comes from divinity, to be inspired by a god. It does not how ever fit with fortune telling.

some ideas now of mine to get you thinking:

Augury is one class of Divination. The reading of signs. this could be in the form of haruspices. 'the birds fly east it will be a good day' or it could be in the form of dowsing. A method of 'divining' things that are hidden such as underground water or Ley Lines. I could see this fitting with a gathering skill. We will use our powers to find hidden sources of energy and siphon them.

Another important aspect of Divination is often Ritual. Often this will include gifts for the gods. Great riches, Sacrificed animals or people! This aspect would cover the other half of what mod mark said. Players will be gathering something then using it to show alignment to a god. we might be creating alters, giving gifts including the energy we siphon from the nodes.

I expect the way things are going max xp rates will be gained in the wildy. My guess where guthix planted the Edicts will be a high source of divinity! I expect we will have to choose a god but also think we will be able to change our minds. I am guessing we might not be able to become a divine follower of Zaros for example at lvl 1. that may be something we have to work at, but I could be wrong.

I hope I am on the correct track. Gotta be better than fortune.
