Okay you're not redefining, reimagining or recreating any sort relationship between this game and the players, especially not me. You're trying salvage an old broken system and slapping a fresh coat of paint on it, to hide all the scratches and dents in it. However, I would agree with you that Runescape is in fact genre defining. Its the perfect example of exactly how un-enjoyably a mmorpg can be when its developers ignore its community and when the game itself is childish, counter intuitive, outdated, and has a broken foundation that has lost everything that once made it great. You boast that your game has over 5000 hours of gameplay but in reality, an overwhelming amount of this is grinding skills with no reward of personal value or lasting feeling of satisfaction. Many of the skills and tricks that you've developed in a quest line cannot be applied to others, making every quest a puzzle unlike any you've seen before, and a core feature of your game a confusing mess. Mmorpgs should reward players with the most commitment, which you do somewhat well, but they also shouldn't alienate casual gamers. This, along with the other few reasons I mentioned, is why your game's foundation is fundamentally broken and Runescape is doomed to failure or obscurity among the other mmorpgs. This isn't going to save your dying game or attract new players, certainly not people with experience in other mmos. Graphics, no matter how beautiful, cannot hide a broken game.
