BTS Video 51: Orchestral Music

Quick disclaimers as to where my bias lies:
1. I'm a classically trained musician, and my undergrad studies were in music and education
2. I started this game in late 2003 with what was called RS1 (now "Classic"
3. I used to write for a music blog called We Heart Music (at Typepad)
4. Played part of the Diablo series and I can see the connection as far as the style of music, especially comparisons to Diablo II.
THAT SAID...
I'm excited. This is a big jump... the first RS theme I remember was with the RS2 beta, with the track now called "Scape Original", not "Scape Main". (see #2) Although I was jarred at first with the transition away from MIDI to samples a few years back, I'm still excited for another change. I am one of those few that plays with sound on... although not often with music. This could change that.
(p.s. I looked up James Hannigan at IMDb-- he's got good cred, all right. see #1)
I think sheet music would be a great idea-- I did some press for a percussion duo called Loop 2.4.3 that did that (see #3). Granted, this was not video game music, and I don't know if there is a precedent for that, but... oh, c'mon, Jagex, start with Cambridge University. I'm sure the PR would be brilliant.

I CAN'T WAIT! When RS3 comes out I will quit Old School but right now I just can't play EoC, it doesn't really suit me so well but i don't hate it either. I already have a feeling that it's going to be perfect. You should also put more money into BotWatch, Giving voices to all of the NPC's and for the most important in my opinion, ADVERTISING THE GAME ON TV, IN TOWNS, ON VECHILES. Runescape needs more players and with the RS3 coming, it's just the time to win alot of new players! SoF and SGS should not be there though, but i'm happy if the money goes towards RS3.
