Sounds great! I'm wondering if this is the boss that will finally drop level 90 mage weapons? Us mages have been at a huge disadvantage lately and I want to know how I can get my hands on them A.S.A.P! And I was also wondering if level 99 content will ever come out? Keep up the great work Jagex!
...Jag, hang on. Every single boss you've been releasing has been hailed as the hardest one. And if that's your intention, I don't think it's a good one. You can't just keep making each one harder than the last, otherwise it's going to go out of control.
As much as many people will probably disagree with me below in an
extremely polite and level headed manner
, I wouldn't mind some bosses that are a little easier than some of them that you've made before, so we don't end up with it basically being WoW-style escalation.
Fullblown non-playing lurker since 26/06/17. May come back if both the devs and the MTX team get their bloody act together.
To disagree with your opinion, I'd say that much of the bosses currently ingame require no real thought to kill.
•Jad
easily killable with no prayer switch w/ defensive abilities.
•Barrows
combat triangle to victory.
•GWD
you can solo and momentum kill any of the bosses for a long period of time.
•Corperal Beast
attack and dodge core, not that hard to comprehend.
•Nomad
was all about knowing his combat cycle, not really hard. I say this to his pre-EoC version. Now he's a complete joke.
•any dungeoneering boss
easily killed within few abilities
*Nex
is a phase-style boss which means you can easily adapt and correspond to it's fighting styles.
•Sunfreet
was a one shot boss that was completely destroyed in difficulty with EoC, even pre-EoC you only needed to know the combat ticks to be successful.
•Queen Black Dragon
is again a phase-style boss. The only thing that changes is the amount of flame walls and tortured souls, as long as you pay attention you shouldn't encounter any problems.
•Fight Kiln
difficulty is rather easy since EoC and ability use. Just use defensive abilities on Jad waves and it's easy as cake.
•Tokhaar Hok
easy when you realize magic has a passive freezing spell on autocast.
•Kalphite King
only requires two individuals to partake in the success of the kill. One saves the other while the other make sure that the KK doesn't attack anyone else so this trend can work. The magic orbs are easily dodgable. The minions do heavier damage but it's still not that hard to 3-man.
•Legiones
basically the same combat scenario as corp, but much faster paced, not hard if you realize you can use abilities while running.
There isn't any real challenging boss monster yet on RuneScape that really requires much adaptation needed to bring it down. It's basically all the same thing but little subtle-changes.
Just wondering, with the mention of "how the 6th age will end" is it safe to assume that the narrative will again shift sometime in the future to a 7th age?
