i agree... you see people on facebook who have 2000 friends btu its doesnt actually mean they have 2000 friends most are just random idiots...
200 million accounts with 117k people on at the moment thats a total of roughly 199million accounts which arent in use at the current time...
lets say the max each day is 200k users and those users have 5 accounts each which they use each day still only totals to 1mill different active accounts a day..
200million accounts id be game to say 100mill bot accounts... if you dont believe me go to red chins in any world

You want me to celebrate this with you because it wouldn't have been possible without your (longterm) players, yet you have no interest in our feedback regarding certain, well-talked-about updates that ruin the game.
I wonder how many fake accounts are being made just to see the 200 000 000 on the front page.

I think it's safe to say that there is not more than 2 Million active "accounts" currently. I base this number of of people sleeping, etc, away.
Of that two million probably half is bots, so lets say 1 million active players. I base this on the post bot nuke numbers of several months ago - I don't believe that the game has doubled in popularity since then.
So in 10 years, Runescape has only been able to retain 0.5% of it's players!
That's a great number!
Although I agree that 200M is a cool milestone, they need to own it for what it really is.

There is no reason to celebrate dead accounts. How about getting 2 mill paying members or 20 mill actives that aren't bots in a month & celebrate a real achievement. Luckily this game is starting to look like it's worth playing now with the combat & graphics updates so maybe one day you might have an achievement worth mentioning.
Also let's put these numbers into prospective a certain other Freemium game just announced that they have 22 million actives with about 10% being P2P giving roughly 2.2 million P2P accounts this game was launched in 2004. Yes Jagex your being beaten at your own game.
