Mod MMG just gained massive credibility in my eyes. He said that 2013 would be a year for the players, and he has delivered that promise with the idea of a 2007 server. It's not even the old school server itself that has impressed me - it's the fact that Jagex has taken into account the vast amount of feedback and has acted upon it.

I'm not a member anymore, but the right to vote for a 2007 server is something I can't ignore so I will be resubbing in the coming days.

But why is the poll members-only? This will create a completely biased result, since most players who'll want to play old-school servers are quitted, and therefore not member anymore.
I quitted in '09, and I'd LOVE to see an old-school server up, especially without fee! That's really awesome! But I despite I want it so much, I cannot pay membership to vote.
I know there's over 1 million individual players who all want to see the 'real RuneScape' return, but my estimate is that over 95% of them isn't member anymore.
You say that only members can vote, because they contribute the most to RuneScape. But all old-school players, who were member all the time (I was member for 4 years) have contributed a lot more. Without them, RuneScape wouldn't exist anymore.
I think the best solution is to make the poll available for all accounts more than a month old or so. That would also prevent throwaway-accounts.
I also have a question: what do you mean by 'updating' the server? Content updates or patches/nerfs/bugfixes?

Jagex.. don't do this please. People won't miss the old RuneScape after playing this for a while and will miss the live game and get bored of the 2007 server because of no new content, It's a waste of time and no one would want to start from scratch anyways. Look at RuneScape Classic, 100 players online maximum? It's because people get bored of doing the same things over and over - no new content on it, no new exciting updates to look forward to, just the same old game. We all got used to the Evolution of Combat, so this is also bad timing, don't bring old servers.. just leave the game as it is.

Although i am extremely happy that you have listened to the player base, at the same time... i do think that the jump from 50k to 250k is a bit steep... Yes, there is a vast number of us who want this, and have wanted this since the EOC came out, but at the same time... i honestly don't think it's even possibly for 250k plays to vote within 2 weeks...

50k, yes, we as a community can get that, but 250k, i'm not so sure about. :3

I suppose time will tell though. c:
