I may vote for the sake of players desperately wanting this. However, I've invested too much into this account to start fresh. Yes, they were good times, but you can never really get that back. It's time to move on, which is what I've already done. More power to those who want it back, though.

Here's the reason why they're doing that.

Why members only? Members don’t represent all interested potential players...

Our current members are the ones we know for sure are committed to RuneScape and have the biggest stake in our future. If a member votes, we have a high confidence they’ll follow through, as they actively play and pay for RuneScape already. Another reason is that a members' poll run using our own systems is something we can do securely, completely trusting the validity of the result.

I’m a free player. Why doesn’t my vote count?

Jagex is a business, and when launching an additional service we need to be confident that it will generate enough revenue to be commercially viable. This is why we’re gauging interest only from paying players. As you’ll see in the poll targets, if there are enough poll votes from members, we will open the 2007 service to free players too. Please be aware that only proper members, and not trialists, can vote.

I'm not sure how I feel about this, even less sure how I will vote.

whoops I thought I started in feb 2008 but it was feb 2007, so I guess that means con, hunter and cook X will be coded into the game. That's nice atleast.

Starting from scratch sounds good in theory but when you ****ider how long it takes to make an account, such as my main for example. With maxed skills and large amounts of wealth. Starting from scratch would get real old real fast and we'd end up having to go back to main RS no matter how we feel about its latest updates.

I think that this will appease people that lost their pures and miss the old days of pking. I'm not a pker nor do I own a pure but I do understand and I'm happy for old school pkers to get this aspect of the game back. Pures don't have to skill other than for quest requirements, don't have to have a lot of cash to start out and don't take long to make. So really it's perfect for them.

Not so good for skillers and PvMers....

I'm not really complaining however. Just making an observation. I'm OK with playing on the EoC server, I don't hate EoC.. I'm just not excited by it and I would rather play a 2010/11 version and keep my account.

Just my 2 cents worth.

i agree, weapons that had special attacks were the uniqness of the game. Having to start over is a new way to do things differnetly. most players will have better knowledge of how to do things. Will drive me completely away from eoc server enitrely as i am not interested in many function button games.

The total ammount of players that play daily is 76k-100k and ¼ is f2p and another ¼ is members while ½ the daily ammount is nothing but bots. so how are we supposed to reach atleast the 250k mark? Since its all the same players that are online daily since about 150k+ players quit because of the crappy eoc update.

Honestly, I feel that 90% of all you people saying this is stupid, didn't even play RuneScape back then, so of course you wouldn't know what all us older players know how it was like. I still have membership, but I rarely play. The game just isn't much fun to me anymore, it's essentially a different game there's been so many changes. Also many players nowadays are very rude, so hopefully this will bring back old players who actually had manners. I was really excited for a 2006 version that was closed down recently... I almost can't believe Jagex is giving us this chance themselves. So excited, thanks guys :)

If this is added, would you be able to finally put in a graphics option for "Fixed" mode, except a larger even full screen size? I don't think that it would hurt the nostalgia, but now a days most people find it hard to use that little screen.
