It is awesome to see Jagex more publicly reacting to feedback in general, though they have for the most part in one way or another. I do stress, however, that taking a step back regardless of how many people are for it will foster the wrong type of folks within the community itself - especially when it comes to feedback.
Feedback should be about shaping and molding the game at hand - not jumping back to the past and imagining it will fix one thing or another, if anything at all. I appreciate the poll itself albeit hoping there is an option to vote against the proposed changes, but sincerely speaking I fear such a version of the game will be made available and, essentially, will fall out on its own as people realize it really was not all it was cooked up to be and how dreadfully boring it will become.
Sure, it may satisfy a few hard-headed folks who have never grasped game design concepts in their life before and constantly rely on old memories, associations, and feelings to get a thrill, but I sure hope you folks at Jagex do not spend too many financial resources to support such a project - such resources could easily be channeled into something that does need consistent improvement, such as Customer Support. I understand the distracted attention from employees itself will be minimal, but still, resources utilized are resources utilized.
Just your friendly neighborhood team player.
