Reading the news update from yesterday, I was definitely excited about Runescape for the first time in a while, but there is still a lot to think about.

There are a few ways to look at this. Obviously it's a good thing that Jagex is finally letting the community vote on the direction they want this game to take, but is the way in which Jagex doing this fair?

I mean, of course, most of the veterans who supported 06 RS have long quit by now. Most of the members who still play this game support the current RS, otherwise they probably wouldn't be paying membership.

Which means that a lot of the players that want 07 RS back, have to buy membership again, without even knowing if their vote will do anything, because most likely than not, we might not get enough votes.

If there is enough votes, I doubt we'd get enough to ensure that we won't have to pay dumb amounts of money for something that won't even be updated. And if we do get the 750k votes, which is unrealistic, imagine how much money Jagex would make along the way, from people buying membership in order to vote.

Is it even worth it for the players, or is Jagex just trying to play us into giving them a few million more dollars? I really don't know, but I know for certain that expecting 750k votes from members only, without allowing trial accounts is near impossible, but a fail proof way to get lots of money from false hope.

Say the 07 game does come back. Are the same people who are buying membership right now to vote, ready to spend atleast $20 a month on membership for a game that isn't even the main focus?

There is a lot more to it than just bringing back the old game. I honestly don't know how things will turn out, but i'm very skeptical.

Content you can expect. From 2001-2007 August which is the date being brought back. Just because so many of you are posting wrong comments with wrong info.

- Friends Chat & Lootshare will be in this server.
- God Wars Dungeon will be in this server.
- The task system will be in this server.
- The quest after the "Cold War" the update says simply "New penguin adventure".
- Hunter will be in this server.
- Construction will be in this server.
- "New Pirate Adventure" is another update.
- Jad/Fight caves will be in this server.
- Farming is in the server.
- "New Cave Goblin Adventure".
- Slayer will be in this server.
- Castle wars is also in this server.
- The quest "Monkey Madness" will be in this server.
- The boss "Kalphite Queen" will be in this server.
- Treasure trails are in this time period. (2004)
- And the skill RuneCrafting.
- The quest "Gertrudes Cat" will be here. So you can have puss in boots!
- Agility is in this era. (2002)
- Tutorial island was still in use.
- The boss "King Black Dragon" was in the game.
- The following skills, Thieving, Herblore, Fishing, Prayer, Crafting, Magic will all also be in this server.

I hope this helps some of you out. This is late 2007. Wildly was removed sometime in December of 2007. We are in August in this server. Grand Exchange was roughly November or October. I think November. So I hope you can all stop bickering now. (The first 1-3 content updates may be a little off of being in the game. This is mostly from memory.) (P.S. - I started in very late 2005.)

Well, you said in the post that only members will be allowed to vote this friday which in other words mean that only current players that play the eoc-version can vote.

1. If you plan for it to be a members-only vote, how do veterans get a chance to have their voice heard?
2. As it is now, you are forcing players to pay memebership to be able to vote even though they are not willing to as long as eoc-servers stay up.

I'm a veteran, I would come back to RuneScape if 2007 servers were to be brought back however I'm not willing to pay membership just to be able to vote and I don't think many other old school players wont because it's not in any way guaranteed that 2007 severs would return.

Jagex have to make this poll open for all, both members and none members account. If jagex fear a none fair vote in that way they have to sort it out in other ways and not demand a fee to be able to make your voice heard in this important poll.

Everyone who is so set and determined on bringing back the 06/07 era has no idea what they're pushing for. Everyone I've spoken to thinks 06/07 was only fun because mostly everyone was relatively new and inexperienced. Now that there are more experienced and veteran players 06 will just be slow-going and will cause many now enthusiastic players to get bored and quit.

I love this idea and would love the pre eoc runescape back but i don't think it should be that far back. I think it it should be early 2012 before the eoc.

I like the dungeoneering part and the item binds update. And chaotics
I like the hp, prayer, run energy display which wasn't around in 2007.
I like the nex armor the gano and storm of armadyl update, also after 2007 and polypore
I like the hybrid armour from minigames. new barrow Akinese set.
I like the dragon defender, dragon claws, korasi, armadyl crossbow, kiln cape, sara ammys and all the the stuff after 2007- 2012 before the eoc
i also like the grand exchange, way easier and faster to get items needed for treasure trails.


I hate the eoc

Cannot express my joy for this announcement! I absolutely love this more than ever! I've been playing this game since 2006 and I became a member in 2008. I am overwhelmed with joy and I would really like to thank you guys for considering all of this. No matter what, i'll always be playing and enjoying the game that I absolutely love. RuneScape.

I can't wait to vote in the poll and I really look forward to this. RuneScape just took it to the next step and in my opinion, this is one of the best decisions that you guys as a team have ever made. I can't wait to go back, but still be here, and experience the FULL nostalgia that RuneScape has to offer. I must be dreaming. No, wait, this is reality. This is better.

Am i dreaming...? is this really going to happen?! I only played since like 2007 but even then was amazing.BEST TIME OF MY RUNESCAPE LIFE. I would Do anything to go back in time and play rs like it was 6 years ago....
