Many people actually genuinely like the game better including myself.
To start, the community was more social. Unlike today where you can just go to the Grand Exchange, you had to actually trade in 2007. Today, you can get maxed out and never trade one person. So that factor of Runescape was lost.
The game has action bars. If I wanted to go play a game with action bars, I'd cough up $7 more and go play WoW. But I wanted a simplistic combat and unique skilling methods.
The game is too easy. Deny it all you want, but over the past 4 years, all skilling methods have become incredibly easy. Woodcutting willows and maples compared to ivy. Firemaking or making bonfires. Actually RC'ing or doing Runespan, you get the point.
I started on this game for what it was, not for what I'd hope it would become. Please understand where I'm coming from. I feel that you're hostile towards the old school community. If you have any questions just ask me because I'd be happy to answer them. No, I am not looking with my "Nostalgia Goggles." I have played 2006 remakes for almost 7 months now and I am still as active as I ever was. The community in either of the Remakes have not lost much at all either. This means that most people are dedicated. Thank You
