I am so excited to see this posted... I can't wait. Its really sad to see people think that this means the EOC will be neglected, when jagex clearly stated it wont effect it. I think the way the have it planned, is great. I really love this idea, with different numbers of votes means something different. I hope Jagex can see through all the negatives in this thread... I have faith :)

Sorry Mark, but you're a godsdamned idiot.

Let me tell you what will happen: all the whiners and nostalgia crybabies will create new member accounts, "recruit-a-friend" themselves so that this will not cost them a single penny, and thus manipulate the "vote". You, seeing hundreds of thousands of "yes" votes, will draw resources from the live game to set up those oldschool servers, and as the fake "votes" break the threshold, you will announce that the "oldschool servers" will not cost extra membership fees. As soon as that has happened, all those newly created member accounts will immediately cancel their subscription and the nostalgia crybabies will then enjoy their ridiculous outdated game on servers that WE, the real Runescape players, have to pay for. Thanks for ******** us all over.

There are only two ways you can still salvage this clusterfrak:

1. Set up your "vote" so that only accounts that have been members for at least six months can take part in order to avoid the otherwise inevitable influx of fake accounts

and / or

2. Take back your ridiculous statements and announce that the "oldschool servers" will definitely cost additional membership fees.

Anything else will lead to this sad nostalgia circlejerk being paid for out of OUR, the players who enjoy the actual game as it is, pockets. Once you go NXT, you never go back.

You are obviously not a PvPer.
PvM-ing has undoubtedly been the best thing that the EoC has brought to us, monsters now take timing, strategy, thinking, persistence, determination, teamwork, armour, food, skill and so much more.
Whereas PvP has lost ALL strategy because of the fact that it's button-mashing now, yes, you may have damage-over-time, stuns, and then the 'Freedom' ability, but PvP was undoubtedly more skillful before than now.

But good move Jagex, you've shown your humility to your community, and that you guys really do want to make sure that 2013's a change for the better for the RS Community, I look forward towards the upcoming content.

I do know that 750k votes of p2p users only will be easily done.. do the math and check the highscores right now, 1.8m p2p users(reduce 50% being bots & reduce 50% only real players who actually voted yes) + now all the extra people signing up again because of this thread + all the other new users & veterans who will also join after the Poll goes live - it is quite easily to get the required votes.

However I am actually fine with the game atm, if we do get 2007 servers then that is just a bonus.

@ sky "brainless" Castle - Jagex.. don't do this please. People won't miss the old RuneScape after playing this for a while and will miss the live game and get bored of the 2007 server because of no new content, It's a waste of time and no one would want to start from scratch anyways. Look at RuneScape Classic, 100 players online maximum? It's because people get bored of doing the same things over and over - no new content on it, no new exciting updates to look forward to, just the same old game. We all got used to the Evolution of Combat, so this is also bad timing, don't bring old servers.. just leave the game as it is.

ur so ignorant, do u even know that several thousand members(including me) either quit or stop paying for P2P after the EOC? Do you even know the amount of people who play 2006 private servers, better use ur brain and stop pushing dumb propaganda, we'll see who has the most paying members after a good month after RS 2007 comes back =)
