Seems like the article about this was entirely fabricated to garner support for this and make it seem like its the player's choice.

If it's truly the choice of members why don't your provide full disclosure and allow people that do not want this update to vote 'no' instead of simply abstaining from voting. This would give you a much better perception of the entire community's thoughts on this topic, would it not?

What I dislike about it is that your character won't be the same on each and as you said you'll have to start from the beginning on the 2007 server and that you'll be charging such a high fee if there are not enough supporters of it. Moreover, a lot of the fun activities and D&D's that require people to keep them entertaining have a dwindling number that play these now so splitting off another version of runescape would mean even less people in the main game; if the 2007 version is popular.
