Ideas & Questions
Double/Triple experience for the first month of the new servers, so people, like myself, who played then can get a faster start and don't feel robbed of their hard work-at least as much as they might from a fresh start. A month might be pushing it a bit, but a week or two would be fantastic.
Rares have been a hot topic. Instead of releasing them the old way or just giving them away, maybe you could have contests for them of sorts. By this I mean scavenger hunts, random drops from monsters and resource gathering. Some that can be allocated via a wide range of normal in-game activities. However it's incorporated, it needs to be pulled of randomly and slowly - so no one feels "cheated." Personally I think the funnest way would be a scavenger hunt day or release, with the items located throughout the map, with some in quest areas and other areas with requirements. This is very tricky, but the above idea is the best I can come up with.
There are some updates that obviously pushed people away from rs. I think dead content is the biggest reason (+ SoF). I also think there's content that improves '07-scape. I don't think the addition of Godwars, the dragon pickaxe, (and dwarves) mithril dragons, and the old ancient effigy drop rates were among those reasons. As long as any updates don't belittle my achievements, by making said achievement easier ect, I would probably continuously play as long as I have things to do. I hope I don't come across as arrogant, or like only I know whats best for rs, but a lot of what I have said is why I originally left. The biggest reasons were the EoC changes (making my 400k dung tokens for raiper and cbow niche items) and the disregard for the economy during that time. Anyhow my question is how is new content going to be selected for updates (I know about the polls, but how big of a say will we get) and, will we get any original content
Last thing, I wouldn't worry about bots too much. Random events are lethal^.^
