Okay, as a proud Runescape player since '03 or 04', i personally will love these servers, and i mean, who wouldn't? Those of you that are saying things like "That was the past, get over it." are either WoW players that love eoc because it is like playing a cheap rip-off of WoW, or have only just joined from 2011+, please just vote, and try it, if you don't like it, then don't play it simple as that, but even if you do not like it, you will be helping your community drastically because of the amount of players that do love those old days. "Look at RSC servers, they are all dead just like these ones will be." Have any of you thought about the fact that the RSC servers are so empty because they have only opened them up to members to join about 2 or 3 times and only for maybe a week? Then you expect that there should be hundreds or even a few thousand players on it every day, when that many people probably didn't even realize that they had the chance to join them? These servers will be open to all members that decide they want to play it, and if we get enough people, even to free players. This will be great! One more thing, those of you that say things such as "Well, be prepared to get little to no updates for the next few weeks." or "This is stupid, they should be paying attention to the main game." Well, maybe you should actually read the FAQ before posting replies to it, because it clearly states that their attention will only be away from the main game for maybe a month, then it will be put back into the main game. This is a great update for everyone including you people who disagree with it. Hundreds of thousands of players will either come back or join the game, think of all the private servers there are, many of which with a 1000 or more players online, most of those servers being pre-eoc, and maybe, 50k of those people will even join and learn to like the main game. Anyways, I think i have written enough for one message, thanks for reading and happy voting!!!!!!

@ Hallow Sticks

"This is for players who currently are a member and contribute to RuneScape. Same reason why kids don't vote in the real world."

K, so you are saying that just because I don't have membership RIGHT NOW makes me a lower creature? I don't think so.

Nice Chat, See You in '07 Scape!!!

I find it funny. I was at work, and one of my friends played WOW for many years, and then the Pandora expansion came out, he quit... All MMOS have to change. Better or worse. Who here plays the original call of duty constantly. No one, people play black black opps 2. Let this EOC grow, and not try to back step back into the future. It will do the company no good in the long run.

"How would that not be fair? We worked for our stats. Why should we the ones with high stats be made noobs because others are lower levels."

I have over 2300 levels, yet im not capable of being in the top of any skill because of people that started a few years before me, or did things I couldnt do for simular reasons.
frankly my dear, I couldn't give a dam. never had a river to build one on.

Reading this still blows my mind, when 2006scape got shut-down I lost all hope of ever enjoying runescape again having played on and off for short periods of time ever since the removal of free trade and wildy and never really enjoying the game.

2006scape was a blast but it had its obvious problems, ambitious project but there was no way they would ever complete all the content and still iron out all the bugs that kept popping up.

Servers using the original source-code hosted by the creators of the game is unreal, I NEVER expected Jagex to actually do this. It baffles me, they could potentially split their community up making the newer version of the game alot less appealing to new players and as fun as I personally find the old runescape I have a feeling it's not the right choice from a business standpoint considereing it's less appealing to newer generations.

I can't help being cynical, will they actually go through with it? I really could care less if the popularity fades quickly leaving a mere thousand players on at any given time, I know from private server experiences that I will enjoy myself and for gods sake I started in 2002 and I'm still comming back for more though the breaks have become plenty as of 2008'ish.

I keep comming back because I've always felt that I can come back and it'll be the same and the santa hat in my bank will still be there and most likely worth alot more but at this point I'm not even sure what game I'll come back to the next time, game balance, addition of new leveling methods and ways to get money completely changes what I've built so far and the addition of things like the squeal of fortune honestly scares me with the thought of what the future might hold.

The 2007 servers really ensures that I can atleast come back to the game whenever I feel like, they're able to keep RSC servers up even though it's since long dead and buried and rarely even the stakers are seen playing it BUT it's still up and running. :)

Pinch me.
