There is of course the possibility of doing it like the original game, having a few gifts tradeable, maybe just once a year or something. Do it on Runescape's anniversary perhaps.
Personally, I hope whoever gets put in charge of this adheres to the old ways, and doesn't just take us down the same road we all got off. Keep things simple, please.
How about people with long membership can vote on which Rare they choose, but just a fixed number. Sounds like a good idea and a good model for Jagex to earn some money out of it!
The economy will be ran by those with them and without them being introduced, the economy can reach it's true potential based on items alone.
Plus, another great thing is that no rares = nothing really to bet on. The main focus will be skilling/looting/pking for money and that's what the servers should be about.
But honestly, this is one of the things I feel the most strongly about. From GWD and onwards, Melee became stronger and stronger and the combat triangle more and more skewed.
2007? You've got to be kidding me. Why not just right before the EOC? There's no way you guys don't have the archives for that.
Now I get to play a game with DDS, gmaul, MSB as special weapons.
SO MUCH FUN *sarcasm*
So you give me the EOC then give us a server from 6 years ago. Serious? I don't want to play the EOC but I sure as hell don't want to play a server from 6 years ago.. Just give us right before the EOC..
