Well isn't this a buzzing hive of opinion?

The people who are genuinely grateful, I congratulate. You have the game you loved back.

The people who STILL feel cheated, you need to find satisfaction for yourselves if a company can't make it for you.

The people who flame the EOC need to understand that it's a separate game, and will always have followers who want to follow the storyline of RS and watch all of the fantastic, game-changing updates Jagex creates.

The people who flame 2007scape just need to see that it's not their problem. I believe Jagex are hiring new people to work the 2007 servers, not taking from their current team, so there should be no interruptions to EOC updates.

Unhappiness is always something that YOU can fix. If you expect someone else to fix it for you, then you'll always be disappointed.

It's great that they're not going to charge any extra for the first six months, hopefully they'll be kind enough never to introduce an extra charge, seeings as we were only 10% from the target I think that'd be a nice touch.

Overall the 07 servers are great though, Jagex really excelled themselves. Also, seeing no bots in the main game is A M A Z I N G.

You're on fire, Jagex.

Nice of you guys to give the lower price. However, the possible addition of the fee after 6 months seems to be scaring some people off. I think you really need to stress that maintained activity will keep it free and that avoiding activity for the sake of the possible fee increase will make it more likely, a self-fulfilling prophecy of sorts.

Also, to anyone complaining about your payments going to fund a version of the game you won't be playing, the members that joined solely for the 2007 game provided more than enough money to fund it. In fact, most of their money will probably go toward the main game.

Anyway, I won't be on 2007 Scape much, but I do intend to play at least a few times a month to contribute to activity if nothing else. If a resizable interface is added, I'd probably play more.

Wow, reading through this and there are people actually moaning about not getting the full 500k benefits? The fact that Jagex is giving 6 months with no extra charge (and yes, I know this isn't just out of the goodness of their hearts) is reason enough to be grateful, and there will only be an extra charge if in the coming months the playerbase on the Old School servers dies down.

To the EOC'ers flaming and calling the servers garbage, dated etc accompanied by "Hurr hurrrrr we don't want to pay for your crappy servers give us more skills hurr" have you stopped to think that perhaps people who returned solely for 07 think the same about themselves funding the EOC servers? Those who haven't played in 07 originally probably wouldn't understand the appeal in 07scape, and therefore should refrain themselves from passing judgement.

That being said however, the people flaming the EOC are just as bad. I, myself, am not a great fan of the EOC and I quit when it was released, but there's no denying it's a great achievement in itself and bought a new level of functionality to the game that many would say Runescape has been lacking for a long time.

All in all, if you disagree with the Old School servers and only play the EOC, that's fine, but there's no need to come on here whinging about the impact it's having on 'your' game or calling the servers trash.
On the same page, if you're an Old School player, don't flame people who play the EOC or the EOC itself, you both have the games you want to play now, so stop XP wasting and go and play them ;)

I think you guys have done a great job, but the only thing that should change is bringing some f2p servers.
Because I don't think everyone wants to pay each month for membership, so they still will play it but not have to pay for it each month.
Hopefully we will see that change!
