Thank you so much for the 6 months of membership at no extra cost! It is much appreciated. Am loving the nostalgic experience, even if I don't have much time to play at the moment. :) And thank you for essentially treating our efforts as though we'd reached 500K votes.

Hmmm.
Well congratulations to the supporters of RS07 first of all, hopefully you make good use of the game.

To Jagex though I would like to ask that you make sure you have adequate focus on the main game and to please not take things away from the main game in order to fund RS07. I would also like Jagex to look into the reasons behind why there is a demand for old schools servers in the first place.

Why is it that so many people don't want the main game and instead want RS07? Why is it that people are so passionate for this version? Nostalgia and longing for the old times is part of it I'm sure, but to say that is all it is is short-sighted. Look to see why they are driven/drawn there, what there favourite things about the servers are and I'm sure you could use that insight to see what some of the problems with the main game are...

Don't get caught up in the celebrations, instead use what they say to help fix/improve the main game.

Very disappointing that Jagex does not understand a flourishing and growing 07 means a hit in numbers for the live game, which is th future for their company.

This leads to one big question: what will Jagex do if 07 remains as popular or becomes even more popular then the live game?
How do you build a future on that... will that mean updating 07 on a regular basis next to or even instead of the normal game?

The amount of people who complain about the lack of "community" in this game then come into threads like this and do nothing but throw the word "kid" etc. around as an insult at people with a differing opinion is ridiculous.

I understand the 07 players who want to go back to the game they played as a kid but don't act like playing an outdated version of the game is progress. It isn't. I quit the game at the release of RS2 because I grew up playing RSC but I came back a couple of years later and realised that the complete overhaul of the game had been done for the best; it was necessary in order to remain competitive. Change happens in life and you'll have to accept that one day.

I also understand the EOC players who didn't, and don't, want 07 reinstated as a full blown version of the game. They've accepted change, they've adapted and they generally find the game better without a less simplified form of combat. At the same time, they have to understand that not everyone is willing to give up on what they love. The 07 players have reasons for their choice which are clear to them, even if they aren't clear to the average EOC player.

Enough of the holier-than-thou attitudes, just play whichever version of the game you prefer - or quit. Really, it's not that difficult.

Before anyone calls me out as an EOC fanboy as it appears I prefer the main game over 07, I'm not. I enjoy the game but I can admit it has flaws. That doesn't mean that I believe a company should take 2 steps backwards by reintroducing an outdated product. I didn't vote in the poll because I want Jagex to work at ironing out flaws in their new system rather than reinstating what worked 6 years ago. Embracing the past in any company or project is a recipe for future failure in my opinion. At the same time, the kid in me can't help but wonder what would've happened if social media had been huge at the transition between RSC to RS2 lol... to be honest, I think the game would've probably died.

You know jagex, some people didn't vote for a reason. It's bad enough you've been giving voters ridiculous benifits like being able to play it before the poll is over and getting free old school membership for a month. You didn't even add a no vote? if it's true that you have 1.3million members, only just over 1 third of your community wants this update... And now you just change the rules of your own poll to cater to the needs of that 1 third. What about us?
