The amount of people who complain about the lack of "community" in this game then come into threads like this and do nothing but throw the word "kid" etc. around as an insult at people with a differing opinion is ridiculous.
I understand the 07 players who want to go back to the game they played as a kid but don't act like playing an outdated version of the game is progress. It isn't. I quit the game at the release of RS2 because I grew up playing RSC but I came back a couple of years later and realised that the complete overhaul of the game had been done for the best; it was necessary in order to remain competitive. Change happens in life and you'll have to accept that one day.
I also understand the EOC players who didn't, and don't, want 07 reinstated as a full blown version of the game. They've accepted change, they've adapted and they generally find the game better without a less simplified form of combat. At the same time, they have to understand that not everyone is willing to give up on what they love. The 07 players have reasons for their choice which are clear to them, even if they aren't clear to the average EOC player.
Enough of the holier-than-thou attitudes, just play whichever version of the game you prefer - or quit. Really, it's not that difficult.
Before anyone calls me out as an EOC fanboy as it appears I prefer the main game over 07, I'm not. I enjoy the game but I can admit it has flaws. That doesn't mean that I believe a company should take 2 steps backwards by reintroducing an outdated product. I didn't vote in the poll because I want Jagex to work at ironing out flaws in their new system rather than reinstating what worked 6 years ago. Embracing the past in any company or project is a recipe for future failure in my opinion. At the same time, the kid in me can't help but wonder what would've happened if social media had been huge at the transition between RSC to RS2 lol... to be honest, I think the game would've probably died.
